In Chapter 28, after her class ends, Roxanne attempts to talk to Astra about her telepathy. But due to being in a lecture hall, she decides to be circuitous for the sake of subtlety. This has the unfortunate side effect of Astra mistakenly believing that Roxanne is talking about her supposed albinism. In Chapter 33, Astra hears the terms 'breakdancing' and 'boombox' for the first time, and also hears 'club' ignorant to the fact that they don't mean the weapon. She marvels at how so many things humans make are inherently violent. Also in Chapter 33, while Astra is busy dissecting gossip at the town hall, May and Brendan are discussing her unnatural growth spurt.
