Sadly, his takeaway is that he needs to find some other way to force them to work together, rather than addressing the underlying trust issues he created. In order to maintain control of his family grounds, Sasuke has to stay at the Uchiha Compound, surrounded by constant reminders of everything he lost. Trying to help his teammate forces Shikamaru to confront just how archaic and screwed-up Konoha's legal codes are, particularly when it comes to the matter of adoption, as whoever becomes Sasuke's legal guardian would have to adopt his surname. |
