And the meek shall inherit the Earth...Set at the same time as Pokemon Opal And Garnet, Between Sun and Moon is a Pokemon fanfiction, based off of the Pokémon Sun and Moon video games and containing references to the Canadian prog rock band Rush- sorry, "The Holy Ones." It takes place after the events of the games.Shocking news has broke that a portal to a new world known as "Earth" has opened up, and music and plays from that world have entered the Pokemon world. Among the new things that have entered the Pokemon world- specifically Alola- is the music of a "prog" rock band that has existed for 40 years. To the citizens of this "Earth" planet, the band is called Rush, and their members are Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. To the citizens of Alola, the band is called "The Holy Ones," and their members are the Tapu Tehoe, Tapu Piti, and Tapu Etoru. Their style of music- "prog" rock- becomes a Sleeper Hit in Alola, and the band themselves become the biggest thing in the region since the Ultra Beasts, loved by all but stark traditionalists. It is even loved by the region's Pokemon professor, Kukui...And then he dies.The citizens of Alola are obviously saddened by this tragedy, but little did they know that he sent out a mysterious package before his death, containing three starter Pokemon and a slew of items.Within a few days' time, that package finds its way to a 15-year-old soon-to-be Trainer named Gabriel Connors. Kicked out of his house by his parents due to his homosexuality, he is struggling to come to terms with who he is as a person. His only comfort is in listening to the music of the Holy Ones- whom he never treats as gods, and always knows as Lee, Lifeson, and Peart.
