Transformers: Prime: Butterflies of War is a fanfiction written by cosmothediclonius on DeviantArt. The story is a TFP Canon compliant fanfiction but from Kylie's point of view, an ex-prostitute who joined up the Autobots to fight against Decepticons. The story is considerably Darker and Edgier than the original show as it develops themes such as abusive relationships, drug addiction, manipulation and murder. However, themes such as bonding, friendship and parental love are also presents. Adaptational Heroism: A lot of characters. Knockout is the best example. He does his Heel–Face Turn a lot sooner in the story than in the show. While he is still a bit vain, his good qualities are more prominent. And Knockout tortured Silas in the show to avenge Breakdown, while here he kills him to protect Wildbreak, his son. Starscream too. He is considerably less treacherous and coward than in the show. even Taking a Level in Badass and even pulling a Heel–Face Turn when he realizes he is pregnant with Megatron's child. Megatron himself, though it overlaps with Adaptational Villainy: in the story, he rapes Starscream though he also helps Autobots to defeat Lucifer when he realizes that this latter betrayed him and also in order to protect his daughter Starsong. Abusive Parents: So many characters suffer from this. However, the best example being Silas and Kylie though it is later revealed they are not related, Kylie being Lucifer's daughter. Interestingly, Silas is revealed to have been a quite decent parent to Kendall, Kylie's sister at least before leaving his family to work to Mech. Lucifer also has some shades such as giving a forceful upgrade to Kylie to make her work for him by his side. However, Samael said that Kylie would have been happier if she had been raised up by Lucifer instead of Silas. Downplayed with Shockwave.
