Harry, meanwhile, hears that Professor Snape didn't insult her at all when doing it and concludes that he must really like Hermione, because he insults everyone except goblins. Abigail agrees that that level of politeness shows how much he holds her in high regard. As soon as Dumbledore hears about the fistfight between Lucius Malfoy and Arthur Weasley, he recognises it as uncharacteristic behaviour for Mr Malfoy, and starts putting pieces together. Abigail knows that Harry's encouragement is heartfelt when he puts down his fork to pat her on the shoulder.
