Jonathon Joestar eventually marries and settles down with his wife, Erina Joestar (nee Pendleton), creating multiple generations of Joestars who went on to help save the world from multiple threats, including vampires, Pillar Men, Serial Killers, etc. The Zeppeli Family has served as allies and/or mentors of the Joestars, starting with Phantom Blood's William Zeppeli. Unlike canon, where the Zeppelis tend to be very short-lived and often die to give incentive for the Joestars to fight on, the changed setting means the Zeppelis get to establish more generations, leading to the birth of the likes of Hol Horse, Gyro Zeppeli, and Rarita "Rarity" Zeppeli. They also worked together more coherently in taking down threats such as the Big Bad of JoJolion, Honami Sato. Fluttershy in this setting, while still a bit shy like her canon counterpart, is more assertive and willing to fight, especially if Jotaro is involved. She's also a Stand user with power over nature and animals, whereas canon Fluttershy, who was no slouch herself at times when it came to saving the world, was more a Shrinking Violet who had trouble standing up for herself and reacted more to threats than actively confronting them herself. Canon Hol Horse was an Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain who heavily relied on J. Geil to do the fighting, and his own fighting skills essentially amounted to shooting windows and glass for J. Geil to travel through. And despite talking game about his own Stand, he is ultimately a Boisterous Weakling who is undone by his own incompetence. And while the heroes do win in the end, it often comes with a steep price. In this setting, many characters are smarter in how they fight and behave, and the presence of the Mane Six becomes a massive boon to the Joestar family, as it ensures deaths happen less often and villains don't cause as much damage as they did in canon. The Danganronpa series is about groups of students being forced to kill each other in sadistic killing games where "culprits" are punished in the most horrific ways imaginable. Any acts of kindness or attempts to avoid meaningless deaths are rendered completely meaningless, as the purpose of the Killing Games is to spread chaos and despair. In this setting, the entire plot is derailed when Kakyoin (who survived the final battle with DIO) takes control of Hope's Peak Academy away from the Steering Committee, while Junko Enoshima, the mastermind of the Killing Games, is given a constructive way to express her fears and insecurities (in this case, her own Stand) without resorting to violence. Instead, the early parts of Jojolion consists of typical high school shenanigans before the students get involved in wider conspiracies. Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the most famous Genre Deconstructions of the Super Robot Genre, with all of the characters being psychologically broken in some way, the protagonists being living weapons and potential harbingers of the apocalypse, and the Humongous Mechas being living Soul Jars for the pilots' mothers. The enemies the pilots fight are extremely powerful Angelic Abominations, with one of them having the power to outright inflict Mind Rape. The Cruel Angel's Thesis arc in JoJo New Universe serves as a Reconstruction of Neon Genesis Evangelion itself, with the pilots having better families, Yui's canon fate being part of a plan by SEELE that Gendo ruined thanks to a certain alien's advice, and everyone being much more well-adjusted compared to their canon selves. Persona 5 depicted Tokyo as a Crapsack World where everyone is too scared or apathetic to care about the horrors happening around them thanks to the more oppressive and brutal aspects of Japanese society. The Phantom Thieves have all suffered one way or another, whether through false charges, abusive teachers and authority figures, witnessing a friend attempt suicide bc of said abusive teachers, or being made to believe they were responsible for a family member's death. In JoJo New Universe, everyone has enough common sense to actually look into instances of corruption and try to resolve it in any way they can, while the people behind Tokyo's corruption in canon are decent, well-meaning adults who were framed by a secret conspiracy that sought to spread their influence.
