Loki goes to Midgard to seek the Tesseract. In The Avengers (2012), it was ordered by Thanos, by himself, and led to him to invade Earth with the Chitauris. Here, It was ordered by Odin, accompanied by Thor, Sif, Medea, Kirei & Sakura and he comes with the intention to safeguard it.
