Variant Power Copying: In the stories where Taylor gains Trump powers, it's never just plain Power Copying, there's always a twist to it. In At My Fingertips, Taylor can gain new powers from touching other parahumans, but the new powers tend to be rather limited in scope and ability compared to the originals. For example, she can't stop time with a touch like Clockblocker can after getting his power, but she can drastically decrease their temporal speed instead, slowing them to a crawl. In Stand Proud, Taylor's Stand Kehpri can gain new powers for each parahuman she comes within a certain radius of, but they're all tweaked in some way (in part to avoid too much redundancy with Khepri's natural Stand powers) and getting them permanently requires her to understand how it works. For example, Taylor's version of Mush's power lets her create a "Variable Golem" that can regenerate by absorbing the material it's made of from the environment. |
