Jesse Bliss is an Alpha Bitch who antagonizes each of the girls, mixing up Anne and Luz's ethnicities, borrowing money from Sasha and spreading rumors that she stole money from her (ignoring the fact that Sasha's rich) and sticking gum in Marcy's hair & stealing her Azura Vol. 3. In "Sasha's Advice", she even wanted to create a blog labeling Anne as a lesbian after witnessing Luz kiss her. Luckily, Sasha put her in her place. Ms. Byrant is a homophobic teacher of SJMS who called Luz an evil witch just because she kissed Anne during the dance and accuses her of having 'sinful' ways. She then continued her behaviours and suggests Anne go to re-education camps in front of Camila and Oum, knowing the girls have just gone missing. Karma serves her hard when Oum and Camila put her in her place after such comments. Sasha's father Chris believes she ran away because she didn't want to be at home with her parents and didn't understand that Sasha only wanted to spend time with him. Instead of trying to find Sasha and making an effort to be better, he raucously claims Sasha is being ungrateful and doesn't care to look into her whereabouts. After divorcing Melissa, he took advice from inspirational videos that led to him dating a woman younger than him with kids who he'd become a father figure for. He also takes them mainly for being more appreciative for things he provided than his original family and forgets Sasha. This makes him an in-universe one as well, as Anne begins to grow a large amount of contempt towards him for not even being concerned over his missing daughter. While Emperor Belos is already one in the show, the story upgrades his detestable. He persuades Sasha, a 13-year-old child, into ruining her friendship with Anne and Luz and uses her personal feelings to push her into committing evil acts, all for a plan of sending Luz to the Boiling Isles to indirectly help him commit genocide over witches through a Stable Time Loop. Unlike Alador, Alister is a willing accomplice of his despicable wife. They torture the adult witches by injecting syringes into their bile sacs and draining them dry so they can't use their magic, threaten to torture Amity should they step out of line, and laugh at the witchling after forcing her to eat bugs, the only rations they supply.

Hop Pop manages to recover the Calamity Box before the magpie beetle steals it and aside from Anne finding dirt in it, she doesn't suspect anything and their falling out never occurs. When he does attempt to confess, Anne stops him before forgiving him for it, so the girls never learn the truth. It's revealed in a flashback that Sheresade distracted King Andrias while his other companions stole the Calamity Box, then split up with the frog taking the box and considering taking it to another world. "The Core & The King" reveals that Leif (the frog) stole it single-handedly and Barrel (the toad) was send to the outskirts by then-Prince Andrias for not stopping her. This is later retconned so that the latter events occured. Luz discovers glyph magic before she travels to the Boiling Isles. Lilith, Emperor Belos and the coven heads, notably Raine Whispers, debut long before Luz enters the Boiling Isles. Rather than Bernardo giving Anne a new look that culminates in her wearing just a chestplate with her damaged sword, Anne receives pieces of Plantar family armor and takes to using the sword Tritonio gave her. Instead of possessing Marcy alone, the Core decides to possess both Marcy and Amity to gain their wit and access to magic respectively.
