Composite Character: Many of the Cybertronian characters in the story take elements from various Transformers continuities, visual and personality-wise. Bumblebee himself is based on his titular movie counterpart but with his robot mode leaning towards his Generation 1 self, along with the amnesia his Cyberverse counterpart has. Sideswipe, for the most part, is patterned after his Generation 1 incarnation, with his Cool People Rebel Against Authority dynamic with Stongarm taken from his Robots in Disguise (2015) incarnation. While Bulkhead is primarily based on his Prime counterpart, his backstory in Chapter 11 has elements of Animated Bulkhead (befriending construction robots named Scrapper and Mixmaster) and G1 Omega Supreme (specifically his backstory in The Transformers episode "The Secret of Omega Supreme", where he used to befriend the Constructicons before Megatron brainwashed them and destroyed Crystal City). Springer's character remains the same as his G1 version. However, he shares some character aspects with Prime Wheeljack; namely his time and friendship with Bulkhead during their past as members of the Wreckers. This incarnation of Red Alert is a security officer alongside a medic, the former reminiscent of his G1 incarnation, and the latter, in addition to his initially grouchy personality and being an old friend of Optimus, reminiscent of Prime Ratchet. His general appearance is described as similar to Armada Red Alert. Jazz has the personality and design of his G1 counterpart while also having received training from the Cyber Ninja Corps under Yoketron like he did in Animated. Frenzy retains his G1 personality and appearance, but now he's a Mini-con partnered with Barricade and has a sawblade in his arsenal, much like his 2007 live-action movie counterpart. Barricade himself is based on his IDW 2005 self with the "snarky number two" element borrowed from Prime Knock Out, and the alt-mode of his War for Cybertron: Earthrise toy. Sky-Byte combines his love of poetry, loyalty to Megatron, and slightly silly behavior from his original Robots in Disguise incarnation, with the competence as a warrior and emmity with Jetfire from Cyberverse. Jetfire himself is mostly based on his G1 incarnation, including his former friendship with Starscream. His personality is more akin to that of Armada, while his alt mode is based on his Thrilling 30 toy. He also has a Cyber Key from Cybertron. Mina gets to keep her original hero name choice of Alien Queen, due to Aizawa hearing it instead of Midnight, and Mina making the argument that the Autobots, aliens themselves, are friendly. The Sports Festival undergoes quite a few changes. Izuku and Kyoka both work together on the obstacle course and end up tying for first place, meaning they both get the 10,000,000-point headband. Because Izuku and Kyoka both get the 10,000,000 headband, they end up on the same team. While Mei is still part of Team Midoriya (or Team "MidoJiro" as it's called), Kiryu takes up the fourth slot as the front horse. Tokoyami and Uraraka are instead on separate teams, with the former being a part of Hagakure's team, and the latter being brainwashed with Ojiro to be on Team Shinso. As a result, Tokoyami doesn't make it to the final round and Uraraka being brainwashed causes Class A to figure out Shinso's Quirk in advance. Aoyama instead joins Tsuyu and Shoji for the Cavalry Battle, and as such, also does not make it to the final round. Team MidoJiro manages to keep the 10,000,000-point headband throughout the Cavalry Battle by tricking Team Todoroki into grabbing a headband they snatched from Hagakure at the last minute. During the tournament itself, Izuku ends up defeating Tenya in the quarter-finals and Shoto defeats Ibara, meaning their match happens in the semi-finals. Izuku and Shoto's match ends up going into a draw with both sending each other out of bounds with their strongest strikes. The tiebreaker is settled with a game of rock-paper-scissors, which Izuku wins, allowing him to advance to the finals. Izuku ultimately wins the Sports Festival when he defeats Bakugo in the finals. While deciding on their internships, some of the students decide to intern with different heroes instead of the ones they did in canon. Momo interns with Edgeshot instead of Uwabami. Eijiro and Tetsutetsu intern with Crust instead of Fourth Kind. Itsuka interns with Gunhead alongside Ochaco instead of Uwabami. Kyoka interns with Snake Eyes instead of Death Arms. While Izuku still goes to Gran Torino, he also learns under Mirko, which allows him to start using Shoot Style earlier. Due to helping Tenya, Shoto, and Izuku fight Stain, Mirko ends up getting the credit for the Hero Killer's capture instead of Endeavor, with the burns and injuries on Stain being explained as Shoto and Tenya defending themselves from him. Also, since Izuku is not seriously injured fighting Stain, he does not end up in the hospital with Tenya and Shoto. This, along with All Might and Agent Fowler showing up to check on him, leads to Izuku learning about All for One before the end of internships. | |
