The Stations of the Canon: This fic follows through many of the events of canon Sword Art Online, albeit the impact of each scene tends to differ because of the circumstances: Kirito still leaves Klein behind, but he has Sinon and Leonn covering his back. This also impacts the meeting with Coper, as the duo rescues him after things go haywire and he learns different lessons from the experience. Asuna joins Kirito's group because they are only three. It still is less than the ideal six-man party, but it makes sense for them to team up. On that note, Diavel still dies in the first fight, and Kirito takes the blame, leading to the Beater stigma. Many events listed in Progressive still happen, like the altercation with the Legend Braves, and the shadow plots of Laughing Coffin early on. Kirito's group still takes Kizmel's side in the Elf Wars questline, leading to everyone growing close to her. At the end of the line, she ends up being allowed to follow the Renegades in her adventures, even receiving the ability to use a HUD. Disaster still strikes the Army on the 25th floor because of an overeager Kibaou though he was manipulated by Morte in taking action before anyone else, and promptly expels his second-in-command after the fact. The Black Cats still fall on a trap that was no accident. This leads to the pursuit of the Divine Stone of Returning Soul in Christmas leading to rifts between the Renegades. Fuurinkazan in SAO was known for never losing any of his members. Here, two of their members die in battle. Kizmel seems to die during the Laughing Coffin raid, but it's subverted as she's revealed to be in the Underworld because she's marked as a player. Unlike other players, however, she has no physical body, meaning that it felt as if she got teleported to that place. Most of Laughing Coffin gets axed during the assault on their base, including the trinity of Xaxa, PoH and Johnny Black. They resurge one last time to cause trouble during the War of the Underworld arc, where their Fluctlights meet their end. | |
