My Greatest Failure: The Madrigals consider Mirabel to be this, with some exceptions, they know they weren't the perfect family to Mirabel and regret not doing more for her. Especially when they all made some sort of promise to stand by her side and love her regardless of the fact that she didn't get a gift. Julieta and Agustín feel they didn't do enough to protect their child from the improper treatment she experienced at the hands of the townspeople and their own family. Pepa and Félix realize that over the years their relationship with their youngest niece became strained despite all the good she has done for their family, especially for their youngest son, Antonio. Also, they can't help but feel guilty for how they added to her eventual breakdown by creating more tension during the proposal dinner. Isabela admits that she pushed Mirabel away out of spite and jealously, even though she once shared a close sisterly bond with her when they were younger. Dolores admits that she allowed herself to stand by and allow Mirabel to become a scapegoat for complicated, and selfish reasons. Plus, she's the one who started the gossip train during the proposal dinner, despite knowing how her family was bound to react to the vision. Luisa comes to accept that she wasn't strong in the real way when it came to her younger sister, for she wasn't able to provide her with the kind of strength she actually needed, which is both mental and emotional strength. Camilo comes to realize that the connection and memories he had shared with Mirabel faded away the more time passed, all because he was afraid of the world around him changing too much like it did after Mirabel's faded away. He also played a role in revealing the hidden vision during the proposal dinner. He is also envious over Antonio's closeness to her than him, his own brother. The only exceptions to this trope are Bruno and Antonio. Bruno literally left behind everything he ever knew and loved, in order to protect Mirabel. Antonio hasn't done to warrant guilt like the rest of the family, for he will always be Mirabel's number one supporter. | |
