Kid Jarrett brutalizes Cody partway through the film and whips her so badly McCoy has to take her to a doctor the moment he finds her. At first it seems averted with Frank Jarrett, who treats Cody much more kindly than Kid, and Cody in turn still displays some affection for him... and then you learn what he did to McCoy's mother. The entirety of Kid's gang has no more hang-ups about gunning the women down than they would anyone else in the final shootout. | |
