Police Are Useless: None of the cop characters are very helpful, with three clumsy, identically-dressed detectives standing out for their incompetence. It's Guy who does all the work of protecting Jill and figuring out that Gerald and Claire are in cahoots on his own.

Stupid Crooks: Babcock and Brown are a pair of thieves trying to steal Guy's suitcase (revealed to be because they put jewels in it in a smuggling attempt), but they are comically inept at it.
