Bolivian Army Ending: The final battle has Sam and Jake in a situation similar to Butch and Sundance and they discuss how suicidal it is that the only options are stay and get shot, or charge at the enemy and get shot. They charge, with some timely distraction from the populace rioting at the gates. They get shot a few more times, but they win.

Pin-Pulling Teeth: Lampshaded and defied. Jake and Sam are getting ready to go up against a large group of soldiers that have them pinned down, and plan to begin their counter-assault with a barrage of grenades. Jake takes a grenade in each hand and pulls pins with his fingers. Sam had earlier been shot in the shoulder and held a grenade in his one good arm, attempting this trope. It doesn't work.
