Ruby is a 1977 supernatural horror film directed by Curtis Harrington starring Piper Laurie, Roger Davis and Stuart Whitman.The plot revolves around the titular Ruby, a woman in the 50s who wanted to become a singer. She is happily in a relationship with a mobster named Nicky, but her previous lover becomes jealous. He and the other mobsters rub Nicky out by shooting him to death at the dock of the swamp where she lives, but they spare her. The group goes into hiding and Ruby opens up a drive in theater to "go straight" and make legitimate money while lying low. However, the mobsters who now work at the drive in start to get mysteriously murdered one at a time and it looks like Nicky didn't stay dead. | |
