The only time someone panics is when Kevin Bacon sees them, which is justified since the two are kidnapping him. That said, nobody on Earth in the special seems to actually know who they are, with Drax believed to be a Kratos cosplayer. Even then, Bacon, after having seen the clearly alien Mantis on the video doorbell display, dismisses her and Drax with a largely irritated "not cool" when they persist at knocking on his door, only panicking when Drax breaks through the glass.
