Living with her is Anna, who looks to Marta as a maternal figure and whom Marta has informally adopted as a niece. Anna is a lesbian and her partner, a schoolteacher named Claudia, also lives in the house. Back in the day, Anna's parents broke up in an explosion of hatred and infidelity, and Anna is still filled with resentment.Domestic routine is interrupted by the arrival of Marta's younger brother Nicky. Nicky, younger than Marta but still in late middle age, is gay and brings his handsome young boyfriend Piccio to visit. The unconventional family of five plans a day trip to Venice, but fate intervenes.
