In 2007, a Goon by the name of Proteus4994 bought Daikatana and planned to make an LP out of it. However since he, in his own words, sucks at FPS games, and can't carry commentary on his own, he strongarmed/persuaded Suspicious, back then known for Let's Playing several classic First-Person Shooters on the highest difficulty setting, into doing the LP with him. A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Proteus is pretty abusive towards Suspicious and their guests. When they do fight back, however, this trope is subverted, as Proteus is seen to follow The Golden Rule; he encourages his guests and Suspicious to treat him no better than he does them, and by the second-to-last episode Suspicious and Frankomatic (their guest-of-the-episode) kill him numerous times out of revenge. The LP's narrative featured on the Let's Play Archive is composed of Proteus speaking with an egotistical representation of John Romero for each update. After many updates of Proteus tolerating John's assholish behavior, calling him out on his BS and throwing Stealth Insults John's way, the last update has John throw it all back in Proteus's face, calling him out on his own flaws as an LPer and as a person.
