Awesiaki (link to the first chapter) is a reddit NoSleep series written by Beast. It differs from other NoSleep stories by being sent in a colonial era, being told through multiple perspectives, and having a Dark Fantasy tone to it. Told by multiple letters and testimonies, Awesiaki is presented as a obscure "fairy tale" passed down by multiple generations, before the original documents were found, and the "true" story of Awesiaki is revealed.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })In 1607, Minister Benjamin Chase left Europe for the New World in hopes of bringing the Kingdom of God to Earth, converting many people of different cultures to Christianity. By the time they reach a prosperous but dreaded land of "Awesiaki", Chase finds a settlement upon this land for the purposes of forming a religous community; just in time for the birth of his son, Greeshawn. Over the decades, the village takes in a feral orphan named Jaralath, and later a mysterious girl named Mahalia; both of them have similar but different pasts in being raised by creatures within the surrounding forests, and both having witnessed the horrors within. As the years go by and Jaralath and Mahalia bond over a mutual past, said horrors come to light for Awesiaki and surrounding territories, as a spiritual battle of man and beasts boils around them.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })See also The Red Maiden: Grace's Story, a Romantic creepypasta by the same writer, of which this series spins off from.

Abandoned Mine: Played with. Awesiaki was partially a mining community, but it soon ran dry. In accordance to his father's practice of having criminals work the mines, Greeshawn turns the former mines as a makeshift prison camp, and send people there to convert him to his Cult of Personality. It gets to the point that he's imprisoned so many people in the mines, that it left the village mostly desolate.

All Myths Are True | |
Awesiaki / int_776a06eb | comment |
All Myths Are True: The stories Jaralath uncovered from his families, indicate the existence of several figures throughout mythology and folklore around the world. Notably the connection between the Dogmen and King Lycaon of Classical Mythology. This is later confirmed by The Devourer itself, who says it had a hand in Zoroastrianism (were it was called Ahriman), and Gnosticism (were it is called Demiurge).
