I Shall Survive Using Potions! (Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu!, ãƒ�ãƒ¼ã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³é ¼ã�¿ã�§ç”Ÿã��延ã�³ã�¾ã�™!), is a Fantasy/Isekai Web Serial Novel written by FUNA, and illustrated by Sukima. Originally published on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 3, 2015. It was acquired by Kodansha starting in June 1st, 2017. As of August 2018, it has eight volumes published through Kadokawa's Ranobe Books print. It received a Manga adaptation by Hibiki Kokonoe, also published by Kodansha through its Niconico-based Suiyobi no Sirius magazine in June 7, 2017 and concluded with nine volumes in December 9, 2021. A second manga illustrated by Futsu Onshin, billed as I Shall Survive Using Potions! Continuation began serialization in August 1, 2022. A spinoff manga by Sukima, titled I Shall Survive Using Potions! Hanano and Lotte's Journey began serialization in January 30, 2023. Both continuation and spinoffs are also being published through Kodansha's Suiyobi no Sirius.Kaoru Nagase was a 22 years old salarywoman who was working overtime, when suddenly she fell down and woke up in a strange white void. Greeted by an "administrator", he explains that a time-space distortion that he failed to contain in time has broken down Kaoru's body, and she died as a result. After apologizing to her, he offered Kaoru the option to reincarnate in another world. Kaoru took notice of this setup and asked for cheat abilities so she can survive in the new world, so he redirected Kaoru to the woman who administrates the new world, and asked for: a younger version of her body, be able to say goodbye to her family and friends, understand the language of the new world. And then, she asked for one more specific thing: be able to create potions with any effect she wants. Kaoru then asked the administrator, Celestine (referring to her as a Goddess) to become friends with her, with she accepts.Now Kaoru plans to use her cheat potion-making ability so she can live leisurely in the new world, but her actions will also change the world and the people who live there, whatever she likes it or not!In North America, the Light Novel and Manga are both licensed by Kodansha through its J-Novel Club label. The first volume of the Light Novel was released in English in February 10, 2019, and the first volume of the Manga was released in June 25, 2019.An anime adaptation by Jumondou was confirmed in February 24, 2023, and it began airing in October 7, 2023. Semantic Superpower: Kaoru was able to smooth talk her way getting three cheat skills. She was able to add to her first cheat ability, potions making, by also having it create a container to go with it. While the potions could have pretty much any effect she could think of from healing to cosmetic to warfare, the bottles could look like anything as long as her mind could rationalize it as a potion bottle, be it jewelry, a globe, a sword or a human. Her item box allows her to store anything and any amount. Time is stopped for anything in storage. No where in the power's description does it say she has to be touching the item or even next to it. Or that it can't be a live human. Since time is stopped they don't need to breath. Finally her Translator Microbes allow her to understand every language so she doesn't have trouble assimilating. She never said they had to be human, so it extends to animal language and even coded languages. | |
