A Police Procedural novel series created by Tony Hillerman about Navajo Tribal Policemen Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, set primarily on the Navajo Reservation in the Four Corners area of the Southwest United States. Leaphorn is older, seasoned, and a bit cynical, while Chee is young and idealistic and dreams of becoming a Hatałii, or Navajo shaman.
