Natalie's short-term teacher, Mrs. Kelly, says she's not supposed to count, rock, play with her buttons, etc. In modern parlance that would be called "suppressing stimming" and it's frowned upon. On the other hand, Mrs. Kelly also advises the family bring Natalie along on errands so she's not isolated at home, which is reasonably in keeping with modern advice. | |
