She later shows a complete Lack of Empathy for Rachel's plight (though Rachel's behaviour doesn't do her any favours), conveniently ignoring the fact that it was her and Tom's affair which sparked Rachel's downward spiral. Lampshaded when Rachel points out that she's less angry about her husband being a murderer than she is about the fact that he just compared her to Rachel, showing how petty and unpleasant she is. Her love for her daughter is her only redeeming feature.
