The preponderance of recent authors probably reflects both the way that many, many, many authors have been lost to history, and the fact that the less memorable authors of the past don't have so many fans nowadays — or at least not enough of the Young and Nerdy persuasion. The nearly exclusive emphasis on authors of fiction reflects the basic purpose of the wiki. When adding examples, please put them in the correct chronological section.
