 Twins (identical or non-identical) normally share the same birthday. But then you have these twins, who don't.
Because the delivery was so prolonged, the second born twin actually has a separate birthday, technically being born on the day after the first twin.
The parents have concealed the fact either for the ease of only planning one party per year or because they feel the twins will establish a deeper emotional connection if they believe they share the same birthday. Naturally, this results in a lot of drama and hurt feelings when the second born twin discovers they have never celebrated their true birthday.

 In Captain Star, the episode "It's Written in the Stars" shows that navigator Black actually has a twin, but because they were born a minute before and after midnight, they are separated due to the belief that crews work better together if they all share the same birthday.

 In El Goonish Shive, there is some debate on whether or not two characters, Susan and Diane, might be twins. One of the factors, beyond an uncanny resemblance to one another, the fact Diane is known to have been adopted, is that the two were born literally minutes apart, one on New Year's Eve the other on New Year's Day. Ultimately subverted; Mr. Verres checked and he knows they're not twins. They do turn out to be related, Diane is Susan's great-aunt due to an immortal in the paternal line. Diane is the daughter of Susan's many greats-grandfather.

 Sam & Max: Freelance Police: Played with in regards to the Soda Poppers, a group of former child stars who happen to be (non-identical) triplets. In Episode 104, Abe Lincoln Must Die, Sam can use a carbon dater to determine that Specs and Whizzer are both 35 years old, but Peepers is only 34. In spite of this, the triplets do all share a birthday, because Peepers took another full year to be born.
