Sub-Radio was formed in 2009 by a group of high schoolers in Sterling, Virginia, but did not start releasing music until 2016, after they had graduated college. Their career was interrupted by the Covid-19 Pandemic, but founder (and guitarist) Matt Prodanovich realized that they could use the increase in live streaming to their advantage. They started streaming on Reddit, their streams caught on in popularity (an estimated 7 million unique viewers, leading to a 250% increase in the number of monthly listeners on Spotify and Apple Music), and their career was back on track. | |
