Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })"Yatta!" is a 2001 song by the fictional Japanese boy band Happa-tai (Green Leaves), originally broadcast in the Japanese comedy show Warau Inu no Bōken (Adventures of a Laughing Dog). It was a satirical song poking at the boy band craze as well as optimism in the wake of Japan's floundering economy, and the infamous music video had said band dancing clad in underpants with a fig leaf on it. While it was meant to be satirical, it still made the Japanese charts (No. 6) and went triple platinum, and the song and video had been used as a meme in Western circles in the Oughts. | |
