The year is 2013. Autumn. The location: the bustling technological metropolis known as New Radio City. Even after its destruction and subsequent reconstruction less than a year ago, the populace show no signs of slowing down, streets constantly busy and teeming with life. The day to day liveliness is in no small part thanks to the superheroes that keep a protective watch over the city, as they have for decades. But where there are superheroes, there are also supervillains, acting out their own agendas of greed, revenge, thrill-seeking, or just pure chaos.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })Naturally, they clash.Evil Mastermind RPG is a Play-by-Post Game on This Very Wiki that tells about the stories and lives of the superheroes, supervillains, and everyone in-between who reside in New Radio City. It is notable for its complex characters, multiple subplots and combination of serious and silly. It's also notable in that the RP has changed hands a number of times: Initially starting out as a superhero RP by Yon Troper, it was left inactive for several months before a new series of players and their characters took charge, with Suke Sho/Saturn taking over as Game Master. Gradually, authority and power shifted over to Starbound2 until finally, after over half a year of inactivity, the RP was once again revived by Taco, taking up the mantle of GM himself. The current RP can be found here, with sign ups here and the discussion thread here. For those interested in seeing how things all began, the old RP is still in archive here. Sign ups are always open.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })The old RP features examples of: Absurdly-Spacious Sewer: There is one. It's big enough for Black Ogre to fit comfortably in the tunnels, although so far, only a few tunnels have been used, so it might not be that big everywhere... Battle Butler: Almost everyone who has money has one. Cheerful Child: Alice. But, seeing as she enjoys setting fires that may well kill people, she borders on Creepy Child. Cluster F-Bomb: One of Arnold's lackies, Freddy, speaks entirely in these. 'Trip-Dog-Dead' works as his interpreter...somehow. Cut Lex Luthor a Check: Subverted: Professor Apocalypse does sell his bombs, and has an effective monopoly on the city, but he also works as a supervillain full time. In fact, his tracking Darktail off her unregistered bombs is somewhat of a Chekhov's Gun. Gadgeteer Genius: Aria/Muse and Jeff/Professor Apocalypse. Ray also has shades of this. Bronze Revolver too, as he builds all of his guns himself. Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_3'); }) Heroic Mime: Vigil. The superhero never speaks, instead communicating by typing text on the phone they carry. Landmarking the Hidden Base: Mr. 7's secret base was right underneath his casino before Alex blew it up. Made of Iron: A ton of people, even those who don't explicitly have it as a power; it is a superhero/supervillain RP after all. Medium Awareness: Ial/The Thespian's only real superpower. He's aware that he's a character on a forum roleplay, and even has access to other threads - including the signup thread, and all the character dossiers inside. Revolvers Are Just Better: Bronze Revolver. Though really, with the amount of ammo they can hold and the rate of fire, they're more like tiny machineguns. But hey, Bronze Machinegun just doesn't have the same ring to it. And people get more iffy about machineguns than revolvers. It's all about PR. Sibling Yin-Yang Misters 7 and 13 - one a rich millionaire who runs a casino who wears a theater mask and wields a diamond-headed pimp cane, the other a hobo who wears a bag on his head and a rusty pipe. Anders and Cot, AKA Flashfreeze and Cauterize, are an awkward misanthrope with ice powers and a bubbly, social butterfly with fire powers. Though they're a split personality, they interact like siblings. Slave to PR: Bronze Revolver. He's one of the few heroes in the RP, and he doesn't have the benefits of the Vigil (in that most people aren't sure whether there's an actual human under that suit). Whenever he gets a bit too hands-on with the mooks, the Radio City Super News will be quick to point it out. Supervillain Lair: Mr. 7 and Alex make their homes here. Black Ogre seems to hide out in an abandoned water facility. Stone Wall: Wall Man's only superpower. Not necessarily stone, either. Take That!: Apocalypse offhandedly mentions that he's partly backed by Steve Jobs. There Are No Therapists: Averted. There's Dr. Lang, who appeared initially in the Prison Arc, but has apparently been training to become The Psych for the last eight years. He has started his career with relationship counseling with Bronze Revolver and Darktail.
