Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })The Evermore series is a series of online roleplays that have been hosted on Spacebattles.com, starting off as a predecessor and later spin-off of the Songs of the Spheres Fan Fic created by GMBlackJack. Since 2016, there have been two such roleplays, the Evermore Recursions, created by GMBlackJack, and the Evermore Realms, created by StolenMadWolf. The basic premise of the Evermore series is relatively simple, but surprisingly able to be complex. All Evermore roleplays take place in a Recursional space within the wider Multiverse called the Recursions (renamed Realms in the sequel), where many different worlds, both original and fictional, appeared, ready to explore. The players control characters called Evermore, who could be original characters or directly from existing fiction, who have been torn from whatever reality they are from to a new location within the Recursions. There, they discover they have the ability to travel to thee worlds and even (in Recursions anyway), can sometimes create new worlds with their powers. They set off to explore the Recursions on random adventures and there, our story takes place.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })Started in September 2016, Recursions featured the Evermore travelling across the Recursions on their own random adventures, with no defined heroes or villains, although there were many examples of both within the individual worlds and the wider Recursions themselves. The actions of the Evermore and the denizens in the Recursions driving the plot, both by the choices of the players and the GMs themselves.Recursions lasted from September 2016 until November 2017. However, in the following month, some of the old Recursions players started The Evermore Realms. Realms serves as a sequel and reboot to Recursions, offering a fresh slate for Evermore old and new whilst adding additional changes and potential 'Recursional events' to serve in a wider, cross RP plot that can still be shaped by the players.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_3'); })Realms lasted from 2017 until late 2019, and was nearly identical to Recursions in its sandbox nature to Recursions, but also features wider, Realm-wide plots that impact across the entire RP which were planned for release in multiple Arcs. However, due to certain difficulties, only the first of these Arcs, The Vortex War, was completed. Roleplay concluded in late 2019, with a final ending to the Realms being released in five parts. The last of these was finally completed in 2020, bring the Realms and by extension, the Evermore story to an end....for about five minutes, as a couple of months after the final part of the ending was released and nearly a year after actual posting ended, a new RP based on the series came back up.The new RP is launched in October 2020 under the name Everborn as Everborn Revelation. Set in a different setting from the original, it will focus on smaller story driven 'episodes' coupled with more open sandbox elements, along with small but significant changes to narrow down and refine the experience. However, Revelation ultimately ended up a failure, as did not enjoy the same level of success as it's predessors due to a combination of different factors. In response, the G Ms closed Revelation and proceeded to work on a new RP project under the working title of Evermore Legacy. With the mixed results of the meta-plot driven Realms and Revelation, the new RP would return to a similar format to the old Recursions, and focus purely on just the exploration and stories of the Realms themselves. In May 2021, the fourth Evermore title, now confirmed as Evermore Resurrection, was started. The thread for Recursions can be found here, Realms here and Revelation here.

Bittersweet Ending | |
The Evermore (Roleplay) / int_40cc0c7e | comment |
Bittersweet Ending: How Bitter or Sweet the ending is depends on your interpretation: The Evermore, alongside the inhabitants of the Realms manage to end the war and prevent the Darkwater from escaping, with the Construct and the Vortex being forced to merge to stop them for good. The surviving Realms are returned to their original locations, but every event that happened within is undone and the Evermore run the very likely risk of loosing their memories, and even more if they keep their powers. The Darkwater are still active, and Crusader himself is now amongst the Universes, planning his own agenda. On the plus side, at least some the Evermore are implied to remember, or at least start remembering the events of the Realms if Audas and Warden are any indication.

Color-Coded for Your Convenience: It happens a few times across the series: In Recursions, an entire world had soldiers fighting for different coloured armies, such as Red and Blue. In Realms, the Construct and it's entities were represented with the colours Blue and to a lesser extent, grey. On the flip side, the Vortex and it's forces were represented with purple and black. Likewise, in Revelation, the titaular ship and it's Watchers are reperesented by the colour green and to a lesser extent red. The 'Infected' Watchers on the other hand appear to be represented by the colour yellow.

Greater-Scope Villain: The Darkwater are this for the series. According to Crusader, they were responsible for the end of the Recursions, the Vortex's creation and by extension, all the events that have taken place in the Realms so far. The ending has them topple the Vortex to become the Final Boss.

Cool Sword: There are several of these: The Wei Doi's weapon of choice, which are also electric. Audas Kingsley's longsword named Fenrir, which is not only able to cut through nearly any material with the right user, it is durable enough to be able to survive nuclear explosions without a scratch (though Audas can't do this himself.). Kili Kingsley's nanoblade, although not always a sword, also counts. Jardey Alecta's sword, which, though impractical, can become a giant white magic greatsword
