 Broken Aesop: After spending two seasons establishing Can as an obsessive, manipulative abuser (and more significantly, holding him culpable for his wrongdoings regardless of any Freudian Excuse), the finale essentially destroys the thematic core of the series by exonerating Can of responsibility, placing the blame on his mental illness, childhood trauma, and the influence of his guardian/mother figure, Eti. Naturally, this left many wondering how a show that did so much right in the beginning went so wrong in the end.
