Hallmark Hall of Fame is a long-running (since 1951) American anthology series of Made-for-TV Movies, produced and sponsored by Hallmark Cards and broadcast on an occasional basis over various different networks, most recently the Hallmark Channel.Outside of PBS programs and the Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts, Hallmark Hall of Fame is notable as one of the few productions that is still sponsored and presented by a single corporate benefactor. The movies themselves encompass adaptations of literary classics as well as original works, running the gamut from hard-hitting drama and tragedy, to soft-tissue Melodrama, to comedy and slice-of-life pics. For the more general Genre of works expressing some form of "Hallmark sentiment", see A Hallmark Presentation. Not to be confused with movies specifically made for the Hallmark Channel, which usually aren't part of this series. | |
