No Celebrities Were Harmed: In episode 202, favorite singer of Edyta Chojnowska quits singing and she is very devasted and forms a fan club with other girls to make him get back to singing. He is constatly refered as "Justin". It is very obvious that it is meant to be Justin Bieber even if his last name is never actually mentioned.

In Episode 454, Ela Nowik formed a singing duo with Wacek Mroziński and she is jealous that people like him more then her, so when a man who called himself "Jerry" and claims to be a music producer from England, offers Ela a solo carreer, she accepts it. Jerry takes Ela to his house and turns out to be creepy and dangerous madman who imprisons her in his house and wants her to sing for him forever. Thankfully, Wacek and police arrive just in time to save Ela and arrest Jerry. What he was gonna do with Ela ultimately, we are better off not knowing likely.

The Bully

comment
The Bully: Show up in many episodes; some bullies are just jerks; but some border on outright sociopath. Examples include: In the very first episode we get inroduced to Adrian Kubacki and his girlfriend Ula Gładysz as well as her friend Milena Mróz. They are inroduced as school bullies right away and like preying on younger students. Though, they actually undergo Character Development and become much nicer people later in the show. Iwona Małkowska is also one of the first bullies introduced and one of most recurring ones. She is of Alpha Bitch variety (see Alpha Bitch). Tymon Budziński who makes his first appearance as a supporting antagonist to his friend Jan Zawisza and they both record a video of a simulated rape on a girl. He gets far more prominent role in his next appearance where he is a Villain Protagonist and first he locks claustaphobic younger student in a closet which lands a boy in a hospital and when Teresa Kremer calls his dad, he gets revenge by putting glass into her bag. He gets expelled but even then he returns in episode 145 where he outright wants to kill Teresa Kremer whom he blames for his expulsion. And he attempts to use Maks Nowacki to do it and threatens his girlfriend Dagmara Wilk. Szczepan Kita demolishes a shelter together with his friend Eugieniusz “Gienek Zielonka during school trip and intimidate other students into being quiet. And together they both put the head into the sink of one student who stood up to them. In his next appearance, Szczepan uses his girlfriend Marzena Gabisz to torment her friend Jagoda (who didn’t have any friends before) and when Jagoda loses it and slaps him, he resorts to trying to make her take drugs. Unlike most bullies, he suffers no onscreen commepuence for it other than Marzena finally breaking up with him. And he never returned aftewards. Szczepan's aformentioned friend Gienek Zielonka is one too. He demolished the shelter together with Szczepan and they both intimidate whole class into silence, and assault a student who stood against them. And in subsquent appearances he isn't a particularly nice guy and while he doesn't go out his way to prey on younger students, he does view them as beneath him, and demands them to respect him regardless how much he didn't earn it. Monika Barańska always finds another victim in every episode she appears. It always ends badly humaliating for her but she eventually accepts she isn't liked and embraces it and continues to be mean to other students. And even goes as far as to frame another girl by throwing dead dog under her car. Darek Teodorczyk is a very mean bully in several episodes and enjoys tormenting younger students and demands money from them. And he doesn’t hesitate to use physical violence. Like Adrian Kubacki though, he becomes much nicer later and accepts his friend who comes out as gay (albeit begrudgingly), and later even saves a girl from being raped. Dominik uczak is another example and he is even part of Darek's gang at some point. He likes to harass younger students and demand their respect as well as things like money. In episode 419, he steals a loaded gun of his friend's father and uses it to get what he wants. While Dominik says that he doesn't want to kill anyone, simply having the gun in his hands, is enough to get people to be afraid of him. And in episode 582, when his younger brother Krzysiek is in love with Nadia who chooses a foreigner Abib Haddad, Dominik starts being racist towards Abib despite Krzysiek making it very clear his dislike of Abib has nothing to do with race, and he doesn't approve of his older brother's racism. Błażej Rawicki too. In episode 605 he is revealed to be a gigantic anti-Semite who goes out his way to bully Marcel Gabrycki, his former friend all because Marcel revealed to be Jewish. And he is a strong homophobe as well when later, a girl raised by lesbians comes to school and she is shamed of that but Błażej finds out and blackmails her to give him money or else he will reveal her secret only to do it anyway.

Hot for Teacher: Pretty common among some students. It never ends up with a romance; teachers always make it clear they are not getting into any romance with students. PE teacher Tomasz Dudziak is common crush of many female students. In episode 602, a new student Karol Szosa fell in love with Biology teacher Barbara Gruszka and attempted to kiss her against her will which got him expelled and put under psychological care.

Identical Twin Mistake: Arleta Witowska and Dagmara Iwańska are identical twins who were adopted seperately when they were babies. When Dagmara comes to school, everybody assumes she is Arleta which confuses Dagmara. When they meet each other, they are shocked at their very simillar appearance. In the end they figure out they are identical twins who were seperated at birth. And in episode 236, they also decide to use their alikeness to temporarily "switch" boyfriends but sadly, Dagmara falls for real with Arleta's boyfriend which very much fractures their love and relationship. In episode 293, other two identical twins show up, brothers Jakub and Kacper Filipiak. They both fall for Daria Lewicka but since Daria initially assumes they are the same person, they decide to "share" her. She does notice though how different her boyfriend acts on their dates interchangaebly.

Dragon Ascendant: Sort of. Tymon Budziński starts as a bully together with his friend Jan Zawisza, but it's Jan Zawisza who does most of the bullyuing with Tymon gleefully supporting him. In episode 27 when they both do a video with a simulated rape on Marta Dobrowolska, it's Jan and a third bully who actually do the whole physical part, while Tymon is simply holding a camera. At the end of the episode though, Jan Zawisza gets expelled (and never shows up again) and Tymon returns in episode 80 as a full villain protagonist and this is when we finally learn what a sociopath he really is.

The show also got sort of sequel series called 19+ about many students from that school and their post-school life. Plenty of students got far bigger role in that show but also some things have clearly been changed. For example, Iwona Małkowska is presented as a rich spoiled brat who just loves to humaliate other people cause she views them as beneath her. In 19+, her personality is pretty much the same but now she is given Hidden Depths that her mother is alcoholic. While this certainly makes her far more sympathetic, it's also contradictory to what "High School" established about her.

Kick the Dog: School bullies do lots of mean things but episode 351 has a literal example where two school bullies outright kill the dog (offscreen but still) of their attempted rape victim. Karina KÅ‚osek is by no means a bad person (see Jerk with a Heart of Gold), but in episode 328, when Felek the guinea pig goes missing, her total indifference to animal's well-being is pretty cold.

Teens Are Monsters: While most bullying doesn't amount to much other then being a mean jerk, there are several instances where actions of a student could be considered outright psychotic; Tymon Budziński locks a 13-year-old in the closet and when the boy ends up taken by ambulance, he has no reaction to it. When Terese Kremer calls his father to school, he puts broken pieces of glass into her bag which lands her in hospital. When Tymon gets expelled, he wants to outright murder Teresa Kremer whom he blames on his expulsion. Tymon’s friend Jan Zawisza was also implied to be this when together with Tymon, they recorded a video with a simulated rape on Marta Dobrowolska which Marta herself stated was almost like actual rape and almost led her to suicide. The only reason Jan didn’t seems as psychotic as Tymon was at the end of this situation Jan got expelled and unlike Tymon, he never returned afterwards thus we just didn’t see full extent of his sociopathy. A new student Patryk Kozub gets mad at Anna Turczyn for taking away his tablet and at the end where other forms of vengeance failed, he resorts to trying to murder her with a broken glass. He gets expelled but returns as a drug dealer who now wants to set the school on fire. Dawid Olech is another example. In his debut episode, it's already revealed he has been expelled from two different schools and meets his old victim Adam Wojcieszko and proceeds to brutally bully him which includes trying to drown him in the toilet which leads to Adam losing his consiousness. Headmaster Stanisław Chlebowski actually gives him one last chance which Dawid blows at the very start of episode 268 where he brutalizes a girl. This didn't seem to teach him anything and Dawid decided to immediatly get revenge on the headmaster and first tried to frame him for the crime before bringing baseball bat to school and going on a rampage. In episode 351, two students, Marcin Jurczak and Paweł Strojecki first try to rape Kasia Wawrzyniak and later savagely beat the guy who stands up for her. Later, to intimidate her, they resort to killing her dog and threaten to kill her younger sister. This is what backfires on them since Kasia who very much was staying silent up to this point, ultimately chose to tell what happened. Kasia Adamiec in episode 388 is a new student who is very agressive and in her previous school, she threatened another girl with scissors. She argues with her neglectful mother and Żaneta Grzegorczyk asks if she is ok but Kasia immediatly gets agressive with her. When Żaneta attempts to warn her ex who has a requited crush on Kasia that Kasia is very agressive, Kasia gets far more agressive and violent with Żaneta until she resorts to outright trying to murder her. And it continues to hunt Żaneta since in episode 411, a month after the incident, Żaneta gets paranoid about Kasia escaping from prison with vengeance and two girls decide to prank Żaneta with that. While Kasia Adamiec is implied to have a Freudian Excuse with her neglectful unloving mother, it's also implied that her mother might actually be so uncaring because of Kasia's problematic and unpredictable behavior. Monika Barańska is a bully from the beggining and some of the bullying is outright cruel such as dehumanizing a girl who was born from in-vitro fertilization. However, come episode 475 and where she gets into a feud with Olga Zwolińska (who also isn't a very nice person) she and her boyfriend discover a dead dog and while he feels sad, Monika shows no empathy for dead creature and even decides to throw it under Olga's car to frame her. Amanda Rębkowska from episode 544 also turns out to be this. At first, she just seems to be a Clingy Jealous Girl who simply doesn’t want her boyfriend to hang out with other girls, and especially assumes he is cheating on her with Lena Kędzierska (when really, it’s nothing more then learning together). But towards the end of the episode, Amanda puts high medicine into Lena’s juice fully planning on murdering her. Anna Tkaczyk evolves into this pretty quickly. In episode 627, she is nothing more then a Jerkass who wants to frame a student with ADHD for something he hasn't done because she doesn't like him. To be fair, though most class doesn't like Fabian Kukliński and Anna is just slightly more jerk then rest of the class and compared to things some other students in other episodes have done, she doesn't seem that bad. But in episode 639, she evolves fully into this in being a very abusive daughter to her own mother both physically and mentally. At the end of the episode, she outright attempts to murder her own mother and promises to do the same afterwards to biology teacher Barbara Gruszka (who called her mother to school). The biggest example would be In episode 95 with Mateusz, outside-of-school boyfriend of Milena Mróz. Although, he is more “Young Adults are Monsters since he is 20 thus technically no longer a teenager. Still, he is introduced as being very addicted to violent video games and plans on murdering his elderly neighbor and tries to drag Milena into it. She at first thinks he is only joking but Milena’s friend Ula Gladysz suspects he might really mean it. Which quickly turns out to be the case and as soon as Milena and Ula want nothing to do with it, he attempts to murder them both with a gun.

Took a Level in Kindness: While some school bullies were outright psychos and generally got expelled or even arrested (or both) (See Teens Are Monsters), there also were plenty of bullies who actually became far nicer people as show was going. Adrian Kubacki is actually one of the very first characters introduced in the very first episode. He is introduced as a bully who likes to prey on younger students but after getting in trouble a lot, with time, he starts reflecting on his own behavior and later in the show, he becomes a Nice Guy. Adrian's first girlfriend Ula Gładysz too to a lesser extent. More so, her friend Milena Mróz. Like Adrian, Ula and Milena like to prey on younger students and at their worst, they drug a 13-year old and take embarassing pictures of him and later threaten to expose him if he doesn't give them money. However, come episode 95 where we see their nicer side and when Milena's out-side-of school older boyfriend wants to committ murder, they both freak out and refuse to engage in that (which also leads to him almost murdering them both). In subsquent episodes they show up, they still aren't particularly nice, but at least we know they have standards. Their real nice side comes when a former drug-addict Kinga Bazylak comes to school and Milena becomes her close friend and supporter and officially decides to put an end to being a bully. Ula initially doesn't like the idea but ultimately, she begrudgingly agrees to the idea (and when Kinga accidently buys more drugs, Ula throws them away). Darek Teodorczyk likes to hurt and demand money from younger students and when they start anti-bullying campaign, his bullying gets far worse. Later, when those younger students attack him with a knife, everybody gets into trouble. Darek actually apoligizes later and wishes them luck on their campaign. And in subsquent episode he appears, Darek accepts his friend who comes out as gay (even though, he admittedly is pretty homophobic towards him at first). And later, when his other friend attempts to rape a girl, Darek comes to her defense and reports him to headmaster Stanisław Chlebowski.

Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Iwona Małkowska is a very fond of this. She is a spoiled rich girl who loves to insult and humaliate other people whom she sees as "beneath" her but she does have moments of kindess. Sadly, she herself makes it clear that this is nothing more then for her own interest. Once she makes a bet with a friend how powerful she really is at school and to "prove" her point, Iwona "befriend" a shy younger girl and makes her popular. However, as soon as it seems the girl attempts to date Iwona's boyfriend (she was only framed actually), Iwona proceeds to gleefully humaliate her. Another time, Iwona has a crush on a young man and acts as a Cool Big Sis to his younger brother, but that's only to gain the guy's romantic favor (which initially works). All of Iwona's acts of kindness and compassion to other people are nothing more then for her own personal benefit and as soon as things don't work in her favor, her niceness facade drops and she is very nasty to the very people she supposedly attempted to do a Pet the Dog on. Monika Barańska is a more straightforward example. In episode 382, she falls in love with Tomek Żurawski and actually acts kind towards him and towards end of the episode, Tomek hopes that she can change and at first, it seems she is willing to do it for him. In subsquent episodes, she still is pretty much same mean bully, just nice to him. Then come episode 475 where Monika is at her very worst where she gets into feud with Olga Zwolińska and ends up throwing a dead dog under her car to frame her. And even after Tomek deliberately refuses to confess to the truth, Monika still dumps him all cause Olga tricked Tomek into confession.

Broad Strokes

comment
Broad Strokes: The show got a sequel series “19+ about school’s alumni and plenty of cast members return, and even school together with teachers make few guest appearances. Plus there are even callbacks to “High School. But plenty of things have changed such as Melania Trzeciak having a different personality and Iwona Małkowska going from having rich parents to having an alchoholic mother. While former could be explained that Melania matured after graduation, the change of Iwona’s family background is outright contradictory. Plus, Irek Sobczak got expelled in “High School but got accepted to law school in “19+, which in Poland is impossible with getting expelled. While it’s clear those are meant to be same characters and events at school happening, the plenty of changes makes it questionable how canon “19+ actually is to “High School.

Eviler than Thou: In episode 156, new student Patryk Kozub teams up with Gienek Zielonka against Anna Turczyn since they both have grudge against her; Patryk is mad that she took away his tablet while Gienek is sick of all the bad grades. However, it soon becomes clear that Patryk is a lot more psychopathic and ends up trying to kill Anna Turczyn at the point where Gienek no longer wants anything to do with him. Also in episode 422, this is admittedly more "Jerkier Than Thou" since neither of those characters is actually evil, but Iwona Małkowska attempts to do it on equally self-centered Cezary Wanat. Iwona created a business of humaliating people for money and gets hired by Kaja Mielczarek whom Cezary Wanat just dumped in a very humaliating way, so for revenge she hires Iwona to humaliate him. Iwona feels very confident and attempts to do it... but instead she ends on the opposite end of the trope since it is Cezary who humaliates her instead. She promises revenge and keeps trying to humaliate him only for Cezary to constantly laugh her off and being one to humaliate her instead. Initially she seeks revenge only to realize she has feelings for Cezary and they end up kissing and dating. Which also freaks out Kaja Mielczarek and compares them to "couple of serial killers".

Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Eliza Romaniuk is a responsible sibling to her two younger brothers Wojtek and Adam. Eliza as the oldest is expected to look after them while Adam and Wojtek like playing stupid pranks knowing that their older sister will always get them out of trouble. They even blow a petard in the bathroom. This is the point where Eliza chooses to not help them and instead hopes they finally learn their lesson. Suprisingly inverted with same siblings in episode 836. Now, it's Eliza who is naive and foolish and tries to see goodness in her father, while Wojtek sees what a horrible person their father really is.

The Casanova: Arek Daniluk is well-know as school playboy who likes to flirt and date different girls. He states his father is the same and hence why he divorced Arek's mother. Oskar Kamiński is a worse version of this (and at one point, he outright gets called that) since he tends to often cheat on his girlfriends behind their back. While Arek admits to never be faithful to any girl, he also believes in being honest with them in contrast to Oskar who loves officially having a girlfriend while also cheating on her behind her back.

Trans Tribulations: Episode 192 is about student Kamil Wroński who realizes that "he" (that's sadly what the show refers to her in that episode) identifies a girl and whole episode is about "his" struggles. Kamil's mom comes to accept her at the end but her dad is stated to continuously be a transphobe through and through. She comes back later as a brief cameo and by then she calls herself Kamila Wrońska and and at this point, female pronouns are finally used on her.

Villain of the Week: While most antagonists are simply bullies (plenty of whom even have Hidden Depths), there are some episodes that have an outright criminal as a villain. Plenty of episodes have a character with an abusive parent who is responible for their struggles in the particular episode. See Abusive Parents for more information. In Episode 8 both story arcs have them. In one story 12-year old Aurelia Drabik goes to school on-foot, and is constantly harassed by two young men who demand money from her and threaten to hurt both her and her mother, and Aurelia is afraid to go to school or tell anybody. In the other story, two mean girls post Jagoda Zabłocka's photo and phone number online which leads her to get sexually harassed by an older man who resorts to try to kidnap her. Episode 27 has two students pretend to sell drugs to look "cool" but all their social media posts and all that, unfortunately attracts attention of actual drug dealers who threaten them with knives if they don't give them money. In episode 29, Magda Staszek has a much older boyfriend who simply uses her to pay off his debts. Vice principle Maria Borkowska tries to warn Magda that thanks to this man, another student tried to kill herself but Magda refuses to listen. The older boyfriend takes Magda to his house where he drugs Magda and attempts to sell her off to his friend who attempts to rape Magda. Thankfully, Magda manages to escape and regret she didn’t listen to Maria Borkowska earlier. In episode 46, Edyta Chojnowska meets a mysterious woman who claims to be her biological mother and that she lives in United States. Polish teacher Jolanta Żabińska immediately doesn’t take any liking to the woman and tells vice principal Maria Borkowska. Maria Borkowska states that her friend who works at a different school told her how a girl from their school was kidnapped by a simillar woman and held her prisoner for a week before the girl escaped. They immediately figure out it’s likely the same woman. And Edyta was her new intended target. At the end, the crazy woman attempted to kidnap Edyta but thankfully, she was saved by Jolanta Żabińska and her own actual mother, while the woman was arrested by police. Episode 95, focuses on Milena Mróz and her outside-of-school boyfriend Mateusz who turns out to be a complete sociopath who wants to murder his elderly neighbor and attempts to kill both Milena and her friend Ula after Milena breaks up with him. Tymon Budziński fully becomes this in episode 145. He starts as a supporting antagonist in episode 27 to his friend Jan Zawisza where Jan pretends to be raping a girl while Tymon gleefully records the video, then in episode 80, he becomes a full Villain Protagonist with episode ending with his expulsion. In episode 145, he returns with vengeance where he wants to outright murder math teacher Teresa Kremer whom he blames on his expulsion. He decides to use Maks Nowacki for vengeance and threatens his girlfriend Dagmara Wilk if Maks doesn't cooporate. Patryk Kozub is this twice. First he makes his debut in episode 156 where he is a new student who turns out to be a complete psychopath and attempts to murder English teacher Anna Turczyn all because she took away his tablet in class which of course got him expelled. He later comes back again in episode 239 as a drug dealer who decides to burn down whole school as a revenge for his expulsion. In Episode 253, two 13-year-olds Jakub Mikucki and Robert Suska accidently find a backback with marijuana that belongs to a drug dealer. Kuba initially decideds to sell marijuana but after Robert is threatened by a drug dealer, they decide to return it to him. Unfortunately, they accidently switched a backback with that of an older school bully Gienek Zielonka. Together with his friend Bruno Wasiak, Gienek uses almost all of the marijuana and they both go crazy. Robert attempts to return what remains to the drug dealer but latter threatens him with a knife and attempts to hurt him. Thankfully, history teacher Zbigniew Małek sees it all and saves Robert at the last minute and calls police. At the end, drug dealer gets arrested, Gienek Zielonka and Bruno Wasiak get put on an in-school suspension, while Robert and Kuba get hailed as school heroes for helping to catch a dangerous drug dealer. In Episode 337, Gabriela Cisek is a new student who left her old school because she was harassed by her English teacher Adam Wróblewski. Unfortunately, for her, Adam Wróblewski comes to her school as a substitute teacher when Anna Turczyn is away. He blackmails Gabriela into coming to visit him again, or else he willl expose her naked pictures online that he took of her in the past. Thankfully, Gabriela's new friends stand up for Gabriela and help her expose Adam. It's also revealed he's done it to a lot of other underage girls. Episode 381 has Olaf and his cult. They recruit people who feel sad and lonely and lie that they care about them and enlighten them. And this is what they do with Konrad Świtalski who is struggling with his parents divorce. In reality, they are only manipulating him and just want money. When Konrad fails, Olaf tells him that he and other “brothers plan on moving to England and abandon Konrad. Thankfully, Sylwia Marczyk who is in love with Konrad, helps him. Episode 389, Jadźka Stefaniak needs money to go to New York so she chooses to participate in a beauty contest that's run by a bunch of old or middle-aged rich men and one of them attempts to rape her. Jadźka kicks the man in the balls, and later together with Anna Grochot who also participated in the contest, they decide to inform the police. In Episode 576 Maks Kubiak and his younger brother Wojtek like playing online games where they accidently find out they are chatting with a pedophile and Maks together with his friend Sylwek, decide to set a trap for him. Sadly, Wojtek accidently ruins the plan and to make for it, he decides to set a trap on a pedophile himself. That almost leads to him getting kidnapped but thankfully, Maks and PE teacher Tomasz Dudziak arrive just in time to apprehend the pedophile and call police. Episode 625 has a substitute teacher Marta Kopanowska. While she isn't as dangerous (and it's even a stretch to call her "evil") as above examples, she is the meanest teacher in the whole show and even doesn't hesitate to use physical violence against a student. She gets fired (even though, it's stated she has been a teacher for 30 years). Students even say that even Karina Kłosek who has been the strictest teacher up to this point, never ever hit anyone.

More than Just a Teacher: Teachers at the school are generally very supportive and they not only teach students, but also do everything in power to help them with their problems. Prime example is Physics teacher Andrzej Lesicki who has very good educator and has great intuition. When students behave the certain way, Lesicki always has a way to tell if students actually are bad, or if there is a out-side school problem that makes them project their anger onto teachers and students. When that's actually the case, Lesicki always helps them get out of their problem. Other teachers are this too to lesser extent. Notable exception is Karina KÅ‚osek who likes to make it clear that her job is to be a teacher first and foremost.

Episode 404 has a more mild example but Anna Kaczmarczyk, mother of Milena Kaczmarczyk is also is an example even if somewhat downplayed one. She constantly puts Milena down and makes Milena feel terrible about everything. She keeps telling Milena she needs to lose weight, makes her constantly feel guilty about her grades (which actually aren't that bad; just not perfect), insults her looks... which makes Milena feel very insecure about herself (even if her friends constantly try to tell her compliments). That also leads to Milena finally attempt to committ suicide and this is the point where Anna has Heel Realization and becomes far more supportive of her daughter since deep down, she always loved Milena and thought she was doing best for her.

Second Love: One of the very common tropes. It's about regular school life so first loves, first rejections, second loves etc. are all common tropes. For few examples: Adrian Kubacki dates Ula Gładysz and both are school bullies but later Adrian breaks up with Ula and chooses to change his behavior. He instead starts dating Żaneta Grzegorczyk which makes Ula very jealous. When both Adrian and Ula became much nicer people, they got back together since Adrian states that even though, he dated few different girls, deep down, he always loved Ula. This is Ula's last appearance though since afterwards she graduated and Adrian found new love with Justyna Dudek, a girl from an orphanage. And their relationship lasted much longer in the show. It also ultimately ended later when Justyna came back to Poland from United States, and fell in love with a different guy while Adrian started dating Marta Dobrowolska. Jagoda Zabłocka is very much in love with Bruno Wasiak in episode 70 albeit her crush is unrequited. Bullies Szczepan Kita and his girlfriend Marzena Gabisz (who used to be Jagoda's close friend before dating Szczepan) use to cruelly bully Jagoda and crush her dreams of dating Bruno. Thankfully, in episode 84 Jagoda seems to have gotten over both Bruno and that awful situation and now is in love with her new friend Staszek Matusiak (who initially has an unrequited crush on Melania Trzeciak) and wins his heart at the end of the episode. They don't stay together but still. In episode 360, Jagoda now dates January Marciniak and they are very much in love and January even attempts to engage with Jagoda who says she very much would love that, but first she wants them to finish college together. Cezary Wanat has a simillar situation. In aformentioned episode 360, Cezary Wanat reveals to have been Jagoda's boyfriend at some point but Jagoda wants nothing to do with him, knowing how arrogant and self-centered Cezary is. Cezary does everything in power to break-up Jagoda and January but ultimately that's innefective. In episode 422, Cezary ends with an equally self-centered and malicious Iwona Małkowska (though, if 19+ is taken into consideration, their relationship likely didn't last long).

What Happened to the Mouse?

What Happened to the Mouse?: Sometimes. Students generally do return in later episodes. But there are some students who made appearance in few episodes (sometimes it could even be only one) never returned in later ones nor was their absence adressed. Reasons for that have to do with real life situation of actors. A very good example is first IT teacher Piotr Gądek who made his last appearance in episode 125. Later, he was replaced by Karina Kłosek. It's interesting to note that reason for his departure is never adressed nor is he ever mentioned again which is suprising since in contrast to Karina, Piotr was popular and well-liked among students. Marek Kozioł whose only prominent appeance was in episode 48 (see The Gambler trope for more information) where he formed a secret gambling club. He only returned in episode 70 one more time as a supporting antagonist to Szczepan Kita but he only had four lines and Szczepan Kita and his girlfriend Marzena Gabisz, very much outdo Kozioł in the bullying department (he mostly just stands next to Szczepan and laughs). And that episode 70 was also very last appearance of Szczepan Kita which makes his Karma Houdini status in the episode all the more frustrating. Suprisingly, his best friend of his first two appearances (episodes 34 and 47) Gienek Zielonka who was also part of Marek Kozioł's gambling club, made plenty of appearances afterwards (but ironically, didn't show in episode 70 alongside Szczepan and Marek).

Sibling Yin-Yang

Sibling Yin-Yang: One of commonly used tropes when there are siblings. Arek Daniluk, a well-known school playboy who likes to flirt and date different girls, tries to teach his very shy younger brother Sebastian Daniluk to be a next playboy after him, once Arek leaves school. He even says how it's in their blood and their father was the same (and hence why he divorced their mother). Sebastian however, doesn't have Arek's confidence and when he actually does get a girlfriend, he chooses to stay faithul to her which angers Arek. In the end, Arek comes to wonder if they are actually related. In episode 293, there are identical male twins Jakub "Kuba" and Kacper Filipiak who look exaclty the same (and even dress the same) but are exact opposites. Kuba is calm, shy, and generally a Nice Guy while Kacper is confident, crazy, and full of energy. They both have a crush on the same girl, Daria Lewicka and agree to share her. Because they are new students, Daria doesn't know they are twins. She does notice though how her "boyfriend" acts so differently in each of their dates and when her friend learns there are two identical twins who look the same, they both get suspicious. Daria understadably gets angry when she learns the truth. In episode 515, there are identical female twins Zosia and Paulina Krasoń. Zosia is very smart and likes learning while Paulina doesn't care much for school and instead she loves to party and have fun. They decide to use their physical appearance to switch places so that Zosia would help Paulina get better grades, while Paulina would help Zosia win her crush. So Paulina puts on Zosia's glasses and put her hair in ponytail while Zosia dons Paulina's clothes and doesn't wear glasses (Paulina does now). Everyone falls for their deception and Paulina gets a 5 (Polish equivalent of A grade). Of course, their deception does later come out and it doesn't end well. Dagmara Wilk is a tough girl who stands up for herself as well as to the bullies and also enjoys to rebel and have fun. When her younger sister Zuza Wilk comes to school, Dagmara wants to teach Zuza to be just like her but Zuza instead prefers to be like Dagmara's friend Kasia Przybysz who has always been the very opposite of Dagmara personality-wise (at put them at odds even plenty of times including this time).

comment
Simultaneous Arcs: Every episode has two different arcs of a different student and his or her friends. Those two arcs never directly collide with each other, though there are times where one arc makes occasional subtle indirect references to the other one. Examples of those indirect collisions are: In episode 8, Aurelia Drabik is harassed by two bandits each time she goes to school and is afraid of telling anybody. In the other story, two girls put photo and phone number of Jagoda Zabłocka online which leads to some old man coming to school and attempting to kidnap Jagoda. As Aurelia and her mom are leaving school, the man can be seen standing right next to the door and two girls laughing looking. Aurelia and her mom can still be seen entering their car before Jagoda comes on scene. In episode 172, Maks Nowacki and Kasia Przybysz are both running for a class chairman and there are posters of their campaing hanged all over school. While the other story doesn't directly collide, the posters still can be very clearly seen hanging on the wall in the background. Episode 298, where Maks Nowacki and his older brother ukasz get in trouble for accidelty splashing Karina Kłosek with a juice and in the other story, Karina Kłosek disqualifies a group of students under assumption they were cheating in a competition. Afterwards, Karina is doing an interview to the screen where she says how she thinks all students are spoiled, and talks about both incidents. The biggest one occurs in episode 328 when Mariusz Zawojski brings his younger sister's guinea pig Felek to school to prank girls's from his class, and Felek goes missing. So Mariusz creates a school action to find Felek and pay 100 złotes to whoever finds him. In the other arc, Szymon Regulski dates two girls simultaneously and when they find out, they decide to force a him to do a public apology video. Which Szymon refuses. Two girls find out about missing guinea pig and they find him first and decide to use him to scare Szymon since they know he is afraid of rodents. Afterwards, Felek goes missing again... and gets found by Mariusz.

The very first example is Andrzej Jackowski, father of Szymon Jackowski. He makes a brief appearance in second episode when we already see he is clearly an abusive father but makes far more prominent appearance in episode 14 where the full extent of his abuse of his wife and son is seen. And when he sees website about domestic abuse, he loses his temper and starts physically assaulting his own wife and when Szymon attempts to defend his mother, Andrzej pushes him against the wall which lands Szymon in hospital. He still feels no remorse for it and blames his wife on that and gets arrested by police at the end (and still thinks he did nothing wrong).

Kamila had Sara only at age 17 and decided to be a friend to her and started participating in her parties and basically became a friend to Sara and her friends.

Pyrrhic Victory: In episode 100, new student Karina Sochacka come to school and self-centered Jadwiga "Jadźka" Stefaniak is jealous of her popularity and when Karina turns out to have done a Math exercise better then her, Jadźka accuses her of cheating. Math teacher Teresa Kremer organizes a duel between two girls whoever does a math exercise on the chock board quicker (in front of whole class), will be accepted into a Math olympics. Whole class starts cheering for Karina. Jadźka wins... but instead of class cheering for her like she believed would happen, whole class consoles Karina. Plus, while Jadźka does ultimately get accepted into Olympics, so does Karina.

Tomboy: Żaneta Grzegorczyk is a tomboy who likes to engage in masculine activities. Dagmara Wilk very much counts too. And they both are Unkempt Beauty. Tomboy and Girly Girl: Speaking of Dagmara Wilk, she is also a tomboy to her close friend Kasia Przybysz. Dagmara is very aggressive and tough while Kasia is far more laid-back and matured and more down-to-earth. When Kasia suspects her boyfriend is cheating on her, she almost breaks into tears while Dagmara encourages her to be more tough abs stand up for herself. Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Later in the show though, Żaneta comes closer to that though as she does later wear dresses very occassionally, reveals to be a fan of romantic comedies, and in general is actually shown to like some "girly" activities.

A Nazi by Any Other Name: Błażej Rawicki is basically a very literal version of this trope. He isn’t officially a neo-nazi (or at least isn’t revealed to be) but he spouts very anti-Semitic views and goes out his way to bully a Jewish student Marcel Gabrycki (his former friend) hoping to get him to change schools. And he is a huge homophobe as well. Plus, he even looks like stereotypical Nazi image; a tall very blond skinny guy with blue eyes (likely intentional).

Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: There were some students who made very brief one-note appearances or appearances in few episodes but later never come back. Though, there is one really prominent example that's very much an inversion and playing it straight. Aleksander "Olek" Szumski is one of the most reccuring students in the show but in episode 625, his older sister Karolina Szumska makes an appearance and is revealed to be a student at school. She was never mentioned or alluded before. And that's also her very first and last appearance and she never comes back nor she is ever mentioned ever again. It's even more confusing for fans since later Olek's younger brother Igor makes an appearance.

Continuity Drift
 High School / int_de86b894
comment
Continuity Drift: Couple times. For example, in episode 519 Dagmara Wilk's younger sister Zuza Wilk comes to school and Dagmara wants to teach her younger sister to be just like her. And she becomes a prominent character afterwards. However, episode 20 which is Dagmara's debut episode, heavily focuses on Dagmara's personal life and struggle with her parents divorce and there is no indication that Dagmara has any siblings at all. In episode 49, protagonist is Edyta Chojnowska and it is stated that in addition to her, her parents have two younger sons. However, later Edyta having two younger brothers is never ever mentioned again, and instead, Edyta has an older brother Grzegorz. Big one happens with Kasia Stępień. She is a lesbian and goes to 3d Lyceum in episode 76, which is a graduating class. In episode 281 which chronolovslly is already next school year, she suddenly attends same class as her current girlfriend Gosia Król which is actually 2d Lyceum while at this point, she shouldn’t even be at school let alone, class lower. It’s even more confusing when in episode 375, Gosia Król now has a new girlfriend from her class Paulina Domańska with Kasia nowhere in sight. One cannot help but wonder if Paulina maybe was supposed to be Gosia’s girlfriend all along.

Amanda Rębkowska from episode 544 also turns out to be this.
