Rebel Cheer Squad is a teen thriller which aired on BBC iPlayer in 2022. The show is a spin-off to Get Even. Starring Lashay Anderson, Amelia Brooks and Ashland O’Shea, the series follows three girls at Bannerman School, a stuck-up private school which allows the rich bullies to get away with anything.Clara Harris, the daughter of Bannerman's Coach, feels isolated and unfavourable in her family's eyes and wants to be point-flyer and captain of the cheer squad like her older sister Leila. Grace Ellington, a cheerleader who lives with her grandmother because her overly ambitious parents sent her far away so she could attend Bannerman, wants to be top of her class in everything and one day attend a prestigious University. Rumi Joshi, a ditzy but well-meaning girl who dances ballet to please her parents, wants to be a cheerleader and be in an open relationship with the pretty new student, but doesn’t want to disappoint her parents. When star cheerleader May demands to leave Bannerman School due to anonymous bullying, the three friends try and discover why she chose to transfer schools. However, the investigation takes a dramatic turn during a cheerleading performance when Leila collapses during a stunt and is injured. Finding evidence of foul play, the girls decide to reboot DGM (Don't Get Mad), a secret group of unknown students who fought to get justice for those who couldn't themselves.

The Bully: Viola's well-known around school for being mean and stylish, but isn't nearly popular enough to be a true Alpha Bitch. She only has two friends who, and they're more scared of her than actually friends with her.

Pom-Pom Girl: Most of the Cheerleaders (except for Viola) are portrayed positively, being nice people, and not being treated or acting that different from any other less athletic or less well-known students.

Alpha Bitch: Viola is well-known and envied at Bannerman due to her style, wealth and beauty. However, most people don't like her as a person and she only has two friends, May and Mouse. They don't seem to like Viola and only hang out with her because they're scared of her and don't want to be alone, but it's implied the reason they're alone is because of their association with her.

Lipstick Lesbian: Rumi is a conventionally feminine ballerina and openly gay. Her love interest Jess is as well, albeit to a lesser degree and with a goth style.

Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Reece is introduced hating his friend Evan and being jealous of his position as captin of the Rugby Team. However, he reconciles with Evan and they become close again, with Leila’s claims that Reece is a good guy seemingly making sense. However, he then makes jokes to Sam's gender and sexuality soon after while in the changing room.

Covered in Gunge: The Rugby Lads enter the locker room celebrating their latest victory and strip off to take post-game showers. However instead of water, the showers cover them in paint and cause them to flee while wearing only towels. The whole team are exposed to everyone attending the match and humiliated.

Camp Gay: Sam's sexuality is unknown, but they are Non-Binary and on the Cheerleading Squad. They also like wearing makeup (which isn't tolerated at school) and later even wear the school skirt to the ire of their aunt, who's also the Headmistress of Bannerman. Unfortunately, Sam's personal life has caused them to get bullied (like when the Rugby boys bully them in the changing room). The homophobic bullying Sam receives is the reason why DGM decide to organise a strike on the school dress code.

Asshole Victim: Viola is a wealthy bully who belittles her friends and makes peoples lives miserable. It's hard to say she doesn’t deserve her expulsion. Reece too. He's homophobic, cruel, extremely forceful with his girlfriend (even implied to have pressured her into sex). Leila dumping him is the minimum of what he deserved.

Expy: Several characters are clear parallels to the shows predecessor Get Even. Clara is based on Bree and Margot. Like Bree, Clara is impulsive and somewhat tomboyish, wearing trousers rather than the school skirt like most of the girls. She's is also a little bit shy like Margot. Grace is based on Kitty. Like Kitty, Grace is a diligent student who aims to be at the top of every class and on the student council. Unlike Kitty however, Grace is from a rich background (while Kitty was middle-class and on a scholarship) and lives away from her parents. Rumi is based on Olivia. Like Olivia, Rumi is queer, relatively popular, and is well known for an artistic talent. However, Olivia was from a poor background and Rumi is rich; Olivia was closeted while Rumi starts the series out; and Olivia was known for her acting while Rumi is known for ballet and cheerleading. Leila is based on Amber. Both are popular and dating the local Jock. However, Amber was mean and spoiled and uncaring, while Leila is sweet and doesn’t approve of her boyfriend’s behaviour. Evan is based on Shane and John, being Grace’s new love interest. However, it's worth noting that unlike John, Evan was not friends with Grace for a long time, just in their final year at Bannerman. Miles is based on Shane and John, being slightly effeminate and Grace’s best friend and later boyfriend. Viola is based on Cam. Like Cam, Viola was on a team with the protagonists and is rude and mean to her teammates. However, Viola is much crueler than Cam. Mouse is based on Mika, due to lacking confidence and having private photography of them shared. However, the video of Mouse was saving her from Viola, proving her to be a bully and getting her expelled, while Mika’s private photo was a nude photo shared by the boy she was in love with. Reece is based on Rex. Both are the resident Jerk Jock, though Reece is worse than Rex, who at least cared about his sister.

Beta Bitch: May and Mouse were both Viola's sidekicks. Though it's unclear who the proper Second-in-Command was before the series, it was probably May since she received less of Viola's abuse. After May transfers school, Mouse assumes this role due to not wanting to be alone.
