Rosa salvaje ("Wild Rose") is a Mexican telenovela produced by Televisa. It ran for 199 episodes from July 1987 until April 1988. Verónica Castro and Guillermo Capetillo starred as the protagonists, while Laura Zapata, Liliana Abud and Edith González starred as the antagonists. González was later replaced by Felicia Mercado midway through the telenovela.Rosa is poor, tomboyish girl that is got caught by Dulcina Linares stealing plums from her garden, but she is saved by Dulcina´s brother, Ricardo that allows her to take the plums, falling Rosa in love with him instantly, while decides to marry her just to make them angry.Once married Rosa has to get to the live of the rich family while knowing better her new family and getting humilliated by Dulcina and learning the real reason Ricardo married her.After a series of disadventures that ends with Rosa and Ricardo divorce. Rosa learns that her mother was a rich woman that has to leave her to avoid a scandal. Paulette makes Rosa a rich and elegant woman that began to pursue a vengeance against the Linares family.She finally confronts Dulcina and is able to humilliate her to the point to buy her house and make to put her in her knees. When Dulcina learns her home was bought she tries to put it on fire but she ends disfigurated and killing his acomplice Leopoldina.Meanwhile Leonela, the second ex-wife of Ricardo, tries to kill Rosa because she fears of losing his husband to Rosa but she ends up ran over by a train when her car stopped in the rails after hitting Rosa.Ricardo reconciles with Rosa in the hospital and, after she is able to recover they got remarried as a Catholic couple. | |
