Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })The Jeselnik Offensive was a show on Comedy Central hosted by infamous comedian Anthony Jeselnik, who mocks often tragic news stories, typically involving death, racism, and similar topics. After his monologue, he'll typically close up the first act of his show by playing games like "Who Wore It Better?" or audience games like "Search and Destroy." At the end of his first (or beginning of his second) segment often comes the "Sacred Cow," where Anthony jokes about things often deemed too offensive to joke about, including cancer, necrophilia, and child mortality. Anthony then begins the Panel, featuring guest comedians such as Nick Kroll or Amy Schumer, who go on to further mock tragic news stories. For the third act, Anthony and co. will continue this and close with "Defend Your Tweet", wherein Anthony's guests must defend a tweet they made at some point. Noted for its extreme emphasis on very dark humor.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })

Author Appeal: The infamous "Shark Party" sketch apparently derives from an honest appreciation Jeselnik has for sharks. His second comedy album, Caligula, has a shark on the cover. Jeselnik explains his love of sharks and the "Shark Party" sketch in Thoughts & Prayers.

Actually Pretty Funny: Quite a few jokes on the panels would come at the expense of Jeselnik or his fellow guests, and the insulted person would generally be the first person to laugh.

Amicable Exes: Amy Schumer appeared twice on the show - once while dating Anthony and once after they broke up. While they ribbed each other a bit, it's clear that they still respect each other as comics and friends.
