The Politician is a political comedy-drama series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan. It is the first project of Murphy's development deal with Netflix, following the end of his long-running collaboration with FOX / FX. The series debuted in September 2019.Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) is an ambitious high schooler who has convinced himself that he will become President of the United States someday, and to start putting that plan in motion, has decided to start small — specifically, becoming student body president of his wealthy Santa Barbara high school.
