Sometime in the future, there will eventually be a cataclysmic event that destroys the Earth. It's unknown by what method it will be from, whether by nature going berserk, humanity plunging into a war to end all wars, even by cataclysmic events like loss of the magnetic field around the earth or asteroids. One thing is for certain however, everything will die…...or so it seems. At the end of the earth, when the waters began drowning everything, the then dying humans refused to give up hope that they could still survive, even as the world crumbled around them. They desired to turn back the clock, to avert the various problems that contributed to the apocalypse. And from those cries, a primordial goddess of the water heard their plea. For she loved humanity, she gave weight to their desires and from their dying breaths formed the Song, the call that would break through time itself to appoint those who could hear it to stop humanity from experiencing the Deluge. Will you drown and breathe for the first time?Siren: The Drowning is a game about world survival, the attempt to keep the world running and to keep the Deluge, the apocalypse that destroyed the Earth, from happening. The Sirens are a splat of Mermaids and Mermen who have suffered the Drowning, a point in their lives where it seems they would've crossed the Despair Event Horizon, but they managed to break out of it anyways and achieve their Surfacing, gaining their Diluvian Form in the process.Being a Siren isn't entirely fun and games. After all, a Siren has the knowledge that the end of the world is coming, but not its form. They also have other tidbits to their existence which may be a pain, such as the need to keep up a connection and balance between Civilization and Nature, and the importance of a Relationship may also make a Siren's life or ruin it. There's also the factor of Flensers, who wish to hunt Sirens for their flesh to maintain immortality, and the Abyssal Currents who offer the sweet temptation of clinging to one side of Nature and Civilization and disregarding the other, or simple abandonment of those factors and focus on surviving the Deluge. The factor that the Song within Sirens wishes to be heard and can force a Siren to shift into Diluvian form doesn't help much either. The various splats of Siren are as follows:Waters: The Waters are one of the six Waters within the Celestial Ocean, the crumbling world that remained after the Deluge occurred, that a Siren drowned in. Each Water pertains to specific events or ways the world could end, but also serve as what each Siren is tied to. Each Water also favors three Opuses, one of the three vital parts to creating a Verse. | |
