Akemi-Tan, also known as The Ballad of Akemi and The Blood of Akemi, is an RPG Maker horror game by kona5 and part of The 'Verse with Oyadori No Ko, Sukutte, and Pilgrim (RPG Maker).Shimoda Shimoko strolls by the shrine in her village built to honor the Ou/King, the god protecting the village. It is said that the deity requires a daily offering, and absolutely no one may touch the offering, or bad things will happen. Shimoda, who was tasked with bringing the offering, gets hungry at that moment. Despite her misgivings, the offering is consumed. That night, she tries to go to sleep, but finds a Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl haunting her house, and the places around the village are being attacked by spirits. It seems the Ou/King has made good on his threat, and now Shimoda must find a way to quell his wrath and protect her best friend Ise Emiko. On her way, she encounters a mysterious red-haired girl named Hanatanai Akemi, who claims she wants to protect Shimoda...Can be downloaded here. An alternate translation can be found here.

Multiple Endings: Two of them, the normal and true end: Normal end: Beat the game once. The villagers choose to sacrifice Akemi to the Ou/King in order to lift the curse on the village. It works, but Shimoko and Emiko mourn her death. True end: Beat the game twice. Same as the normal end, but an extended scene shows Akemi having been revived by the spirit of her father, and ready to be friends forever with Shimoko and Emiko.

New Game Plus: Beating the game once and starting a new game unlocks the true end. Not much changes gameplay-wise, but there is a boss fight against Shurafarl.

Big Bad: The Ou/King is the guardian deity of the village who is sending the spirits to destroy it as revenge for Shimoda, the heroine, eating his offerings. Except it was Ise who ate them and the Ou/King is not actually a person, but an energy mass. The real master of the spirits is ?????, Hanatanai Akemi's former maid who usurped her and wants to enslave the villagers.

Red Herring: For most of the game, the player is led to believe that the protagonist Shimoko is the one who ate the offering to the Ou/King, angering him and bringing about the curse that drives the plot. She was tasked with bringing the offering and is shown with it at the beginning, only to get hungry and walk over to eat it. The game cuts away before we see what happens next, which is revealed much later — Shimoko decided against eating the offering, after which Emiko ate it.
