An Episodic Game sequel to Super Mario Bros. 2 (As you know, is Super Mario USA in Japan) released for the Satellaview add-on for the Super Nintendo in 1996.After the events of the original adventure, Mario and his friends assume their adventure in Subcon was All Just a Dream and move on. However, Wart and his minions laid low in another dream and return to trouble the land once more. The King of Subcon calls Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad back to Subcon to face the 8-bits again. Mouser also stole the Mario statues, symbols of peace in the kingdom and hid them all around Subcon. The game was released and broadcasted in four different episodes, each of them based on an individual world from the original game. The gameplay is largely the same as its predecessor with some tweaks and differences. Players don't choose their character before stages. The player always begins the game as Mario, and characters change randomly during timed events. Broadcast Audio is generated through the Satellaview's soundlink system, which plays arranged soundtracks. None of the original soundtrack from the original game is in this title.During gameplay, characters both heroic and villains will deliver commentary and trigger different timed events, both positive and negative affect the player, like power-ups and enemy attacks from offscreen. The game was never released outside of Japan, but elements of it (such as scoring points and hidden collectibles within levels) were incorporated into Super Mario Bros. 2 when it was remade as Super Mario Advance for the Game Boy Advance.Every trope from the original game applies to this game, but unique examples go on this page.

Degraded Boss: Wart got smashed with this hard. Not only does he no longer has his castle anymore, but his lair was reduced to a single room where he can be fought anytime and multiple times in every episode through the player entering a pot in Subspace (Which was how players accessed the warp zone in the original).

Gameplay Randomization: Players begin the game as Mario and will switch between Luigi, Peach or Toad depending on the event and episode. If you aren't prepared, this can wreck your control. Thankfully, there is a timed cue before this happens. One particular event has the characters switching constantly until Peach interrupts it.

Suddenly Voiced: Predating the Super Mario Advance remake that would come out years later, all of the characters are voiced and are able to talk. Unlike Advance however, this is only able to be heard through the satellite broadcast audio and not through the game itself. So players playing on an Emulator will just get pure silence.
