Warning! Spoilers for the original Five Nights at Candy's are left unmarked.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_1'); })So, you lost another bet with your friends, didn't you? Well, you know what the price of losing is. To restore your reputation, all you gotta do is spend another five nights in this old abandoned factory. What's that? Wasn't that the factory where several kids died over the years, starting in 1964? Maybe. Look, do you want your reputation restored or not? Good, that's what I thought.Anyway, it's gonna be dark in that warehouse, so you're going to want to bring your phone so you can use its camera function to light up the hallway in front of you. After all, if (and that's a big if) something comes after you, you'll want to see it coming, right? And if (again, if) something does happen to start stalking you, you can startle it by using the old camera monitor to activate the phones, luring it away. Huh? What if the hypothetical thing that's stalking you brought backup to check the phone for it? Just activate a phone far away from the backup, dummy! It's not rocket science! Just, uh, try to keep in mind that you can't activate more than one phone at a time.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_2'); })Also, I heard that they used to make animatronics for that restaurant chain called "Candy's Burgers and Fries" in that factory. Cool, huh? You might see some of the recalled or unfinished animatronics! Be sure to take pictures for us, okay? What do you mean, "what if they start moving?" That's crazy! Besides, there's nothing to worry about; it's not like the animatronics are gunning for you, and it's not like they've ever gone homicidal, right? Anyway, take it easy, bring some soda to help keep you alert, and good luck. Not that you'll need it, of course. Everything's gonna be fine....Right?Five Nights at Candy's 2 is a Five Nights at Freddy's fan game, mainly based on the third and fourth games in the franchise. Like the original Five Nights at Candy's, it was made by Emil "Ace" Macko using the Clickfusion 2.5 engine — the same engine that Five Nights at Freddy's was made on. It was released on the 28th of February 2016, although it was temporarily recalled due to bugs. If the trailer intrigues you, you can find the game itself on the game's official Game Jolt page here.Advertisement:propertag.cmd.push(function() { proper_display('tvtropes_mobile_ad_3'); })A sequel to Five Nights at Candy's 2 was posted over on Game Jolt, simply labeled Five Nights at Candy's 3. Word of God says FNaC 3 is the final installment of the Five Nights at Candy's saga, although that's recently changed.

Debut Queue: Like the first game. Cindy is the only animatronic appearing in Night 1. Chester joins her in Night 2, followed by Candy (that's right, the titular character isn't even in the game until midway through) and Penguin in Night 3, and Blank in Night 5. Everyone disappears in Night 6 and 8, replaced by the Rat and the Cat.

Easter Egg: Similar to the Markiplier animatronic from the first game, clicking on a certain blueprint on Camera 14 will cause a strange, female, chipmunk-like animatronic named Scribble Netty◊ to appear. She doesn't go after you, and vanishes with a chuckle after a few seconds. On Camera 1, there's a poster of Popgoes the Weasel's head on the floor. Adult Fear: The newspaper you see if you die is some very potent adult fear. It's a "Missing Girl" alert, stating that the player didn't show up to school the next day, and a search team is being assembled to try and find her. Imagine finding out your closest friend went missing and died all because of a stupid bet you made. It gets even worse if the player dies on Night 6. The player is found... The Reveal
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_6b2b3b59 | comment |
The Reveal: The Night 5 minigame reveals the reason of the factory's abandonment and the animatronics being decommissioned. In 1993, two separate fatal incidents happened in the restaurant and the factory. While the one in the factory is unknown, we do know that a night guard of the restaurant was found murdered, presumably by the Rat. The Rat framed Candy for the deed, leading to the latter, and by extension his bandmates, being scrapped. As shown in the Night 5 ending screen, there were six murders happening in the factory in the 45 years before it finally went under in 1993. The most recent and notable one was the murder of a pair of twins in 1987. Six is also the total of Candy's recognized animatronics by then (Candy, Cindy, Chester, Blank, Old Candy, and Penguin), so it is heavily implied that these six people went on to possess them (the mentioned twins in particular seemed to possess Candy and Cindy). The Rat and the Cat had their very own restaurant, which may also be the original Candy's establishment. Due to...something the Rat did to a child, they were both discontinued.

What Happened to the Mouse?: Old Candy is not one of the animatronics haunting you in the factory, so his whereabouts and ultimate fate aren't known (he's playable in two post-night minigames, but both take place when he's still in service). Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_be3e7584 | comment |
Brutal Bonus Level: Custom Night is replaced by a single 7/20 option, which has Normal and Nightmare levels. Normal (Night 7) has you spar with the five animatronics from Night 1-5, while Nightmare (Night 8) has you face the Rat and the Cat. Completing these levels are required if you want to get the third and four stars, allowing you to access the final minigame.

Weaksauce Weakness | |
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_c09dbbbb | comment |
Weaksauce Weakness: The "calling phones to distract the animatronics" concept is clearly based on Five Nights at Freddy's 3, where you have to distract Springtrap by playing Balloon Boy soundbites throughout the rooms. However, this brings into question of why the animatronics don't simply ignore the calls when they are already standing right in front you, as this game allows you plenty of time to lure them away when it happens (in FNAF 3, you're pretty much helpless when Springtrap is already standing near the office; you can lure him away, but the timing window is next to none).

20 Minutes into the Past
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_c49935fa | comment |
20 Minutes into the Past: The minigames all take place at different points of the past, as can be seen on the calendar in the Office. Some details are even tweaked to show you the change of time: those set in 1965 and 1976 don't have computers, while everything set after 1989 have green chairs instead of red. If the newspaper screens at the end of Nights 5 and 6 are to be believed, the game could take place in August 2007, almost twenty years after the first game.

Shout-Out | |
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_c75df49a | comment |
Shout-Out: Penguin in this game has quite a few similarities to The Slender Man. For starters, he wears a nice (albeit dusty) suit. And he also happens to have a white, Eyeless Face with no beak. And then there's the fact that he shows up on the camera at random, stares at you, and if you look at him for too long, he'll screw with your equipment like last time. The Rat and the new animatronic, the Cat, bare some eerie similarities to the Itchy & Scratchy robots from The Simpsons. Think about it. They're a pair of animatronic robots based on a cat and rodent duo that were made to entertain people. Instead, they ended up killing people.

Nothing Is Scarier | |
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_cdfe12c3 | comment |
Nothing Is Scarier: It's never shown what the animatronics do to you when they catch you, but considering the fate of the night guard during the Night 5 post-night mini-game, it's pretty likely that they just murder you on the spot. In the Night 6 game over newspaper, however, it is confirmed that The Rat and The Cat kill you on the spot, with the end result being described as similar to a bear attack. A secret minigame can be triggered by clicking the fourth star on the title screen. It shows the Rat before he was decommissioned, moving closer to a child, before he does... something; the mini-game cuts out before exactly what happened is shown.

History Repeats: Candy's went under in 1993, the same year Freddy's also shut down for good. The only difference: Freddy's managed to cover up their unsafe working conditions until they met their end. The police found out about a night guard murder before Candy's could do the same.

Composite Character: In Night 6 and 8, the only animatronics attacking you are the Rat and the Cat. In addition to attacking you normally (like Candy, Cindy, and Blank do), the Rat doubles as Penguin by attempting to corrupt the camera, while the Cat doubles as Chester by trying to enter the main hall through the vents.

Expy | |
Five Nights at Candy's 2 (Video Game) / int_e5421161 | comment |
Expy: Keeping with the theme of the characters being Five Nights At Freddy's Expies, the new character "The Cat" bears a few similarities to Fredbear — not only is he a much older version of Candy, but he also once shared a restaurant with another animatronic, "The Rat", who in turn resembles Springtrap/Spring-Bonnie. His fur color also helps a bit, as it looks vaguely golden. Also, the game makes Shadow Candy an Expy of Shadow Freddy. Both lead animatronics to important places (the former to lead Old Candy towards the 1965 night guard, the latter to lead Freddy and his gang towards the Purple Guy) but otherwise have their origins unexplained (the creator later confirmed that Shadow Candy is the Cat's soul, though).
