For all the media following the original game, see here.Mr. Hopp's Playhouse is an indie Survival Horror Stealth-Based Game by Moonbit Studios and released on October 7th, 2019. The game's mechanics are inspired by Lasagna Boy by Trashy Rascal Studios. You play as a little girl named Ruby, who is unnerved by the stuffed rabbit that her late grandmother Esther gifted to her. One night, the doll suddenly goes missing as she decides to leave her bed and find her parents about it, unaware that she's in danger...On May 2024, it was announced that the remake is in the work titled Mr. Hopp's Playhouse HD and will be released on May 22 with an addition of the art style implemented in the later games and reimagined storyline alongside a few extra features such as difficulty settings and character customization. Unreliable Narrator
Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1 (Video Game) / int_1869b4b1 | comment |
Also in regards to Esther. Was she just suffering from dementia or was something more sinister and supernatural occurring? Scrawling on the wall that reads "Nana looked into the fires of hell... and she saw me" seems to lean more towards the latter. However, Ruby being a (possible) Unreliable Narrator makes this somewhat dubious. The second game implies that the Entity influenced Esther and has a personal vendetta against her.

Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1 (Video Game) / int_1aa08f77 | comment |
Multiple Endings: This game has three endings. "Sleep Tight": Ruby convinces herself it's all a nightmare and goes back to bed, and Mr. Hopp is looming over her. "Escape Artist": The normal end. Ruby shoots Mr. Hopp with a gun/slingshot, and the police arrive and either take both her and Mr. Hopp away, or just Ruby while Mr. Hopp ominously watches her from the house window. "Firestarter": The Secret End, obtainable if Ruby gets a lighter and matches. Ruby starts a fire, which results in her house burning down along with Mr. Hopp.

Easter Egg: In the attic, when you have exactly three tapes, there is a door that will lead you to a black room full of giant, floating eyes. In the same zone, after collecting the fifth tape, you will also find a message of Hopp that says as follows: "Nana looked into the fires of Hell... and she saw me". If you put "1987" as the safe code, you will be jumpscared by Golden Freddy. Yes, that Golden Freddynote In the newest version of the game, Golden Freddy is replaced with his hat.

After collecting the fourth tape and going back to Ruby's room, you can hear the static that plays when Slenderman sees you on the window. You can find a doll of the Doom Marine on the corner of the front door after collecting the 2nd tape. It plays a snippet of the classic theme from the first mission and shows the "A Secret Is Revealed" message from the original game. Putting "1987" in as the safe combination triggers a jumpscare from Golden Freddy (or just his hat in the newer version of the game) from Five Nights at Freddy's.

Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 1 (Video Game) / int_cb70651c | comment |
Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Is Mr. Hopp actually possessed/demonic, or is it all just in Ruby's imagination? It's never made clear how he is alive, or if he's alive at all and it's all just Ruby's imagination. Though Ruby's father finding the toy unsettling and then hearing weird noises at night along with his wife, and the "Sleep Tight" ending where he kills Ruby, hint Mr. Hopp is very much real. The second game confirms that Mr. Hopp is indeed a demonic plushie.
