A Sailor Moon action game developed by Angel Studios for the Game Boy, released in December 1992, and based on the famous 90's anime adaptation. This game is notable for being the first Sailor Moon video game ever made and released.Based on the storyline of the anime's first season, You play as Usagi (Serena) Tsukino as you interact with characters in an interactive hub world, before confronting the threat, at which she transforms into Sailor Moon and engages in a side-scrolling action level where she battles enemies and fights the monster in a boss battle. The scenarios are all loosely based on early episodes of the first season, so that means the other Sailor Guardians aren't involved with the proceedings yet. The player has the opportunity to visit the Game Center Crown, where they can play a minigame based on the Sailor V arcade game from the show. The game received a sequel in 1994, which was based on the R season, and many more games on the franchise soon followed.

Adapted Out: Sailor Moon is the only playable Sailor Guardian in this game. The Inners are not involved at all in this game. Ami (Mercury) and Rei (Mars) do make civilian cameo appearances in the game, but that's about it. Makoto (Jupiter) and Minako (Venus) are nowhere to be seen. Jadeite is the only one of Queen Beryl's generals who is the antagonist. Nephrite, Zoicite, and Kunzite are completely missing.

Broad Strokes: This game is an extremely abridged re-telling of the Dark Kingdom arc. The first three episodes are based on Episodes 1, 3, 5, and 6 of the anime, then skips over the rest of the season and goes straight to the final confrontation with Queen Beryl. Several characters, including the Inner Guardians and Queen Beryl's other minions are missing.

Adaptational Early Appearance: You meet Ami and Rei and can interact with them in Stages 2 and 3 respectively, but they are not playable as the game since their identities as Sailor Guardians are not revealed yet. The game completely skips over 90% the entire first arc and Sailor Moon confronts Queen Beryl all by her lonesome in the fourth and last level, and actually wins.

Adaptational Badass: Not that she wasn't before, but Sailor Moon meets and confronts Queen Beryl all by herself in the Dark Kingdom, and wins. No Silver crystal or Rock concert needed.
