Salty's Sunday Night is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod created by Tsuraran with the help of Maqua, advertised as a complete overhaul as it replaces all songs up to Week 6 with its own compositions, characters, and story.At the end of Week 6 of the original game, Spirit mentions others like him, trapped in video games by Daddy Dearest forever and searching for ways to escape. This mod expands on what he was talking about, and it's not very hopeful at first.Between 1980 and 2015, a derelict arcade cabinet owned by Daddy Dearest slowly began to accumulate victims by contracting the (reluctant) soul-manipulating monster known as Opheebop, stripping their memories and dumping them into a Lotus-Eater Machine. Life's alright, pleasant even, in the cabinet, but Opheebop can only do so much to provide for them without taking anything in return, and the cabinet's derelict nature means it can only be fully active every Sunday night. Not to mention, one of the victims seems to have gone missing trying to pierce through the veil...Enter Salty, the most recent of the people abducted by the arcade cabinet. When his memories suddenly return to him one day, he decides to take his new crush and the first abductee that's seemingly still around, Itsumi, and fight his way out in the ways of the Friday Night Funkin' universe: by challenging the other inhabitants and eventually the system itself to a rap battle.An officially-sanctioned Alternate Universe called Peppered is currently in development, which alters all of the character designs and replaces the songs once more with remixes and alternate compositions.Additionally, SCP Saltmix is in development, another mod that features the SSN cast facing off against the SCP foundation and its detainees in remastered (or rather, “saltmixed”,) versions of several Friday Night Foundation songs. Gameplay and Story Integration: Itsumi uses Girlfriend's unused vocals from the base game. Since the vocals have a decent amount of artifacting in them that make them sound digitized, Itsumi's outfit incorporates a voice modulator that she sings through. The colors of the base game's notes are incorporated into some of the characters' singing: Itsumi's voice modulator, Connor's visor, Salty's afterimage in Week 4, and the reflection in his visor in Week 5 all change colors depending on what note they're hitting. The sound for missing in the base game is a record scratch. During Week 5, Itsumi is managing a DJ's table instead of sitting on a speaker system, and missing has her cut out the record she's holding in time. | |
