Siren 2 is a PlayStation 2 game released worldwide in 2006, except for North America. It's a sequel to Siren 1, but the stories don't directly link with one another.In 1976, Yamijima Island's electricity was mysteriously cut off from the rest of Japan. A woman was washed up and was found by Shu Mikami, whose name was Kanae. The thing is... Kanae looked like Shu's deceased mother. Later on, a tsunami was reported to have wiped out the island's town and the villagers. The Japanese government couldn't explain why it happened.In 2005, various persons show up in Yamijima Island for various reports. Some wanted to know what led to the tsunami. Others sought refuge there while a squad of Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces soldiers made an emergency landing there. After that... things go wrong. The shibito make their presence known, forcing the survivors to fight them and find a way off the island.A movie adaptation, known as Siren, was released on February 9, 2006 to coincide with the game's Japanese release. | |
