Battlefront III Legacy is a mod for Star Wars: Battlefront II developed by a team led by "El Fabricio" and later "iamashaymin" based on the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III that was being worked on by Free Radical Design prior the studio's original closure.The mod uses assets from a leaked alpha build of Battlefront III to recreate its maps, and features custom sidesnote Units, vehicles and heroes. inspired by (but not limited by) the cancelled game, and also features Battlefront III's defining feature of space-to-ground combat.Currently, the mod includes Bespin, Cato Neimoidia, Coruscant, Dantooine, the Death Star II, Lucrehulk (Droid Battleship) interior, Sulonnote A map from Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II., Venator (Republic Star Destroyer) interior, Vjunnote A map from Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron, which incidentally was originally meant to be a port of Battlefront III., Desolation Station, and a demo map for Original Trilogy-era space battles. Hoth and Dathomir are also planned.The sides are also playable on Battlefront II's default maps, and there are additional addons available that enables you to also play them on a variety of community-made maps.The mod can be downloaded here. |
