Deadpan Snarker: Gold, who constantly makes quips about aspects of the game he's in. One noticeable example is while tracking down Vanish, who's entrance can only be reached during the night... only she's turned off the night system to lock Gold out. Gold then asks if he has to kill the sun to get to Vanish's domain.

Shout-Out: To Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. While in Vanish's domain, Vanish trys to sway you from coming closer by hijacking your phone and pretend to be Oak, in the style of "The Colonel"/GW.

Well-Intentioned Extremist: The Hypervisors, while somewhat arrogant and looking down on humanity (Lionheart being the biggest example), seek to bring about the third generation because the second one still has corruption from the Glitch War, and a new slate will rid the world of it. It's just that all current life will be wiped away to do so.
