Up in the Hollywood Hills, retired movie producer Howard Barclay, nearing the end of his life, has decided to put some old ghosts to rest... or dig them up. He's organized a seance, and brought along a number of old friends and partners to take part in the attempt to touch the afterlife. The afterlife kicked back. Hard. You play as Ed Miller, the photographer hired to take part in the seance and get proof of the afterlife. And now you have more than you ever wanted, as you've ended up on the other side of the Shroud. Bound to the Barclay Mansion, your worst instincts have come alive and are whispering in your ear. You know that somewhere in this mansion, your wife Rachel is still in danger. You have to find her and save her... because Howard did have a lot of old ghosts, and they're not happy.Wraith The Oblivion Afterlife is a VR game adaptation of Wraith: The Oblivion by Fast Travel Games. Although it doesn't dive deep into the setting of Wraith, sticking mainly to the Shadowlands around one mansion, it does put the player right in the mind of a new wraith dealing with the hostility of the afterlife — especially the enemies inside their head.

Mythology Gag: A note on Meadow's list of possible goods to steal includes "Weird ashtray — Haight?" This is a reference to Samuel Haight, a villain who was infamous among the World of Darkness fandom for acquiring the powers of a werewolf, a mage, and a vampire — and who, upon finally being killed, was promptly taken off of the soulforges of Stygia and turned into some Deathlord's ashtray.

Enemy Within: Like in the tabletop game, Ed has to deal with his Shadow, an incarnation of his death drive that is intent on using its powers to manipulate him and make a mockery of all he valued in life. Like making him dive deeper into the mansion on the phony premise that Rachel was even there.

Horrible Hollywood: Cassandra was lured up to Howard's mansion to be seduced; when she refused, a fight ensued, and she fell from a balcony. Although she was still alive, Howard blackmailed Alan into getting rid of her. It's heavily implied Alan is blackmailing Howard in turn to get his big comeback movie made.
