Eight-year-old Jamie Last (name changeable) is a resident of the sleepy seaside town of Sunset Bird, California, together with their mothers Pamela and Noelani, and older sister, Lizzie.One summer evening, on the way home, they encounter a strange man, who offers a secret proposition: twenty dollars to become friends with his son. Little does Jamie know, Cove will become an important part of their life...Our Life: Beginnings & Always is a wholesome visual novel created by GB Patch, and was released on November 16, 2020 on both Itch.io and Steam, then later released on GOG.com on June 13th, 2022. It is the first installment in the Our Life series. The game follows the MC and Cove's relationship as it develops over the course of fifteen years. The gameplay is separated into four "steps" — Step 1 occurs when the MC and Cove are eight years-old, Step 2 occurs when they are thirteen, Step 3 happens at age eighteen, and Step 4 at twenty-three. Each step represents a single summer, and is divided into events called "Moments." Within these Moments, the MC makes decisions that shape both their and Cove's characters.The game has several DLC add-ons: Step Expansions, which add five additional moments for Steps 1 to 3. The expansions for Step 1 and 2 were released on November 16, 2020, while Step 3's was released on April 16, 2021. Cove Wedding Story: Players can plan and experience their ideal wedding together with Cove, should they be engaged by the end of Step 4note This DLC can only be played after Cove's Step 4.. Released on February 7, 2022. Derek's Story: Unlocks a new love interest for the MC, Derek Suarez, with five additional moments (Step 2) focused on Derek and a new storyline in Step 4.
