Wham Shot: Combined with The Stinger. At the end of Stage 6-3, Kojar brings Troy back to the Ostura Kingdom. For what reason? Why to take his role as King of course. All while the heroes are busy getting the last wand. In Stage 6-5 as the heroes are wondering how to destroy the wands, Ostura Castle (which the kingdom is in view) gets blown up and raised into the air. Also King Dedede is alive. In Stage 7-3, when Febo pushes Becky out of the way to protect her from a shot Kojar sent her way. Unlike with it ending okay like Queen Fusie, this time it ends with a fatal result. In Stage 7-5, it's that the wands can be broken but Troy dies in that encounter as well. | |

It had a different layout for Kirby's abilities, enemies were crossed off when defeated instead of fading away, left on the paper environment as well as it having pacing that's fast, a bit too fast at times. Kirby's Epic Paper 2, suffers a bit of this as well in the fast pacing part in the beginning. However, as time goes on, the pacing gets fixed. | |

Shout-Out: In Epic Paper 1, there is: A Mook that looks strikingly like Squidward Tentacles. There is a town filled with Mr. Game & Watch characters. (Not surprising considering where the "GW" in GeorgeGW's username comes from.) In Epic Paper 2, there is: Kirby's copy ability Blaster is a reference to Splatoon, complete in the visuals and the sound effect used. Munchy is practically the character that lives and breathes this trope, packing in Pac-Man and Super Smash Brothers references. The concept artist made one to RosaJon for shits and giggles. George liked the idea so much that he used the design. To Tetris in Gryll's boss stage (and background elements of Stage 7-2). As it's made out of scattered Tetriminoes which is thematic, since they came from a puzzle game themselves. To Super Smash Brothers Brawl, showcasing Armights and Gamyga.
